well ventilated gloves

Recommended Posts

What are the best ventilated gloves under $100?

I find myself sweating in my hands a lot, even playing ice. A lot more in roller.

I was checking out the new Vapor line of gloves, I like the tight fit and I noticed there was a mesh material in the fingers..does that help with airing out?

I have the Bauer Four Rolls and they seem to be pretty well ventilated, as it has four little vents on the back. Sorry, didn't see that you like a tight fit, which the four rolls don't really have but i would still give them a try as they are a great glove for only 90 bucks.

Check out the Supreme 70 gloves. You should be able to find some for under $100.

I agree. I currently use the Supreme 70s. I used to use Vapor XXs. My hands being cooler was the first thing I noticed with the 70s.

Hope this helps

If you like your current gloves have mesh gusetes put in. Or look for a retail glove that fits with mesh gusetes. Just a suggestion

I have the Supreme 50, and they get great ventilation, so I would imagine that the Supreme 70 would be just as good, if not better. The Supreme 50 are the first pair of gloves I've had that didn't present a ventialtion issue to me.

Was going to be my suggestion as well. I love my pair... my hands will still sweat a ton though. but they're tight and have good ventilation.

Just another idea. I started using wrist guards (sweat bands) and it helps keep my gloves dry because all the excess water wouldnt run down my arm into the glove.

Alright thanks guys I'll have to check them out in the store. Nobody has tried any new Vapors?

My current gloves are some old Vic ones. They get really hot and it smells REALLY bad...and everytime after I wear them my fingers feel a tingly pain..probably bacteria eating away at my skin haha.

Ray, I know it's not recommended but I wash my gloves, in the washer, about every 2 weeks in either cold or warm water. I air dry them and it takes about a day and a half to dry. I've had them for at least a year and they've held up well. Sometimes I wash them more frequently if they really start stinking. I can't stand smelly gear. :o

Yea the smell is bad, but I'm more concerned about bacteria eating my flesh away haha.

And you just throw em in the washer? Wouldn't it totally break it apart?

I guess I could give it a shot, nothing to lose!

Depending on your level of play and with the new USA hockey non-obstruction rules and the drastic decrease in slashing/stick work you may want to look at lacrosse gloves. They are extremely well ventilated compared to hockey gloves, while providing very good protection. Slashing is after all one legal method of seperating the ball carrier from the ball in field lacrosse. I used them for quite some time. The only problem I found was due to the increased wrist mobility to facilitate rolling your wrists, occasionally I could jam a wrist/thumb. Unbeknownst to me until it started aching the next day.

Lax gloves are a good idea, personally I wouldn't use them for hockey (ice at least). There's gotta be some kind of a certification/liability issue there.

I haven't skated with the Supreme 70's or 50's, but I know my One 90's are the best ventilated glove I have ever worn, so you can't go wrong with that line.

I think in beer league they wouldn't get a second look. I've worn mine in the past in Ontario, Calgary and Florida. With nobody giving them a second look and they were Brine, who only make lacrosse equipment. I would think Warrior would slide completely under the radar.

I think (and I speak as a big sweaty dude) that the Mission HE750, if you can lay hands on a pair should be under $100.

Those things hands down have the best ventilation I've ever felt in gloves.

Just Great
