RiSeOnFiRe 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Just got new Tour Code Carbons and i love them. the heal sensations was a bit wierd at first but got used to it quickly. can i bake these/should they be baked? i only have a little pain. and is wrapping the laces around the back of the skate going to hurt the longevity of its stiffness?edit: i did search but didnt see what i wanted to know. nummer55 10 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Sure you can bake them. About the wrapping, it all depends how tight you wrap them.
15yearsofhistory 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Wrapping around too tight can break down the tendon guard rather quickly.
li7039 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 i had mine baked. No issues and i do not wrap my laces around the back.
5HoleMadman 6 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 I had mine baked as well. No problems from the bake. I just can't get used to the tongue on them. It burns the crap out of my leg if I skate on them for more than one hour. It feels really cheap to me, but Fletch helped me with that by selling me his one95 tongues. Now I just have to have them sewn in and I'll be all set.
li7039 0 Report post Posted August 8, 2008 i happen to like the tongue on them. To each his own.
liroadrunners 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2008 i cut the lace bite protector out off my tongue.
RiSeOnFiRe 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2008 at first i didnt like the tongue, cause it feels much diff than the big felt one i had on my missions. but i'm totally loving the carbons. Tour > Mission . IMHO heel pitch was strange at first too, but after 1 skate was used to it.
Ranger-#8 1 Report post Posted October 24, 2008 Do you guys think it be better to skate the carbons some before the bake? or just get it done before I even give them a skate?

myelinsheath 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 so when you are baking roller's do you have to take the wheels off? do they melt? im just curious. can this be done at home? any help appreciatedthanks
Ground Zero 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Had about 4 differents skates (different wheels each time from 74a's to 80a's) baked with the wheels on at my LHS. Haven't had any problems with the wheels that the skates were baked on. Although you do want to give it that 24 hr cool down period before skating on them. As far as baking at home I wouldn't mess with. Its far to easy to fubar the instructions http://www.hockeyx.com/hockey/dept.asp?dept_id=118&There are also plenty of threads on this - http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...l=baking+skates
