TPS R8 lite Vs. Eagle SE/X6 gloves.

Recommended Posts

Im now torn between the TPS R8, eagle special edition, and Eagle X6 gloves.

Im sorry for all the threads, im just rather weary about spending my money without hearing others opinions.

From what I know the Eagle 6 is made over seas and the others arent. They all have different palms as well. I think your best bet is either the TPS or Eagle S.E.

I dont have much experience in terms of comparison, but I love the TPS R8 Pro lite. I used 15" CCM Prostock leather, and they felt big and bulky compared to the 14" TPS. Very light, palm feels great and tactile, and hopefully will last with the extra part where the stick sits, and I sweat less in them. I also like the plain look of the glove and the light nylon. Maybe not the most protective, but plenty for adult league. Couldnt be happier. Got mine new for $60 shipped, but after getting them I would pay $99.

All right then, that made it easy.

So am i correct when i assume that the R8 lite is a good glove?

In my opinion, yes.

If the comparison were between the R8s and Eagle PPFs or X-72s then I would go Eagle... but you're also shelling out about another 100 beans. But if it's the X6 or SE, I would go with the R8s.

R8's are great gloves. I couldn't be happier with mine. The X-6's have had durability issues . It would be tough to go wrong with either the Eagle SE or the R8's.

I like the R8's as well. Especially the palm, it's awesome. My only beef with them is they seem a bit on the bulky side compared to my Vapor XX' s or my Reebok 8K's. Maybe it's because of the traditional four fold design. One thing for sure they're definitely protective enough.

I recently wrote a review on the R8 Pro Lites (in progres). Great gloves. Overall I was very suprised by the quality, weight and quick break in time.

I have never worn Eagles, but the R8's I couldn't be happier with.

The R8's are only $129.99 CDN at my local hockey shop. Not a bad price for a good high end glove as compared to some other major brands that are up to $200.
