Can someone recommend me a stick?

Recommended Posts

The newest model stick I've played is the Synergy Si-core. I fell in love with them and just played them up until the end of last season and I switched to wood, preference really.

I'm ready to get back in composites and not sure which to order. Pro-stocks might be better, as I am taller, and I like the keep it pretty stiff. I usually play around a 110 flex, but with the extension it softens it pretty bad.

I'd like to keep the price down, nothing too crazy, but if it's worth it, I'll most likely go for it.

What I liked about the Si-Core was pretty much everything. It was ideal for me. The only problems I had were curve related, which will happen no matter what stick you have. The other problem with it was that I was losing a little bit of speed because of the extra flex, it felt that way anyhow.

I'm looking at the new Synergy line and I haven't been really paying attention to the releases and what's supposed to replace what. Another stick I'm looking at is the NBH One90. These are available in pro-stock 122 flex right? I should most likely look at those.

Anything else I'm possibly looking over? Something a little more durable, as I'm defense, but something with a little more pop. Hopefully I'm not asking too much.

Thanks in advance.

yeah, I chipped the si-core blades pretty fast. The only TPS i've had is an R2 for floor hockey, I didn't like that, but I imagine the higher end sticks are worlds better. I just really like the way the puck comes off the si-core.

Which Synergy model is replacing the ST?

I'd say go the pro-stock route if you aren't too hard on sticks(as pro-stock has no warranty) I know Bauer makes pro sticks long and at least 112 flex if not stiffer. I'm sure that Easton does the same. Also, Bauer will be coming out with the ONE85 stick in October for retail. It is longer than other OPS options and comes 112 flex. The only difficulty is finding a pattern similiar to the one you used on your si-cores. Hope this helps.

You want a 140 flex?

Haha, yeah right after I posted I thought.. maaaybe not. I remember listening to the sports broadcaster talk about how Zdeno likes 2 extra wraps of graphite or kevlar or something, just to make it as stiff as possible.
