Vaughn didnt really "take it" or "make it themselves" isnt it a custom pad for price? so thats probably what he wanted, so they made it for him.

Well, it's what he worked out with Jorg - so yeah, it's a Vaughn-designed pad, insofar as any of the Velocities could be said to be Vaughn's design.

I'm sure vaughn came up with the design. It's hard to imagine that Price would have the time to come up with a whole design on his own. While its plausible, I think vaughn probably pitched him an idea of wearing that design and at the same time wanted to see what the response to the graphic was. My own theory is that vaughn wanted the public's approval before going ahead and slapping it on their upcoming line. Again, thats just my opinion...

That's because the Itech Goalie rep now works for Brian's, so those guys are going with him instead of Bauer.

it seems like conklin and osgood switched their gear up. (i know they didnt)

but osgood is using itech pads with brian glove and blocker and for conklin the other way around

I heard that Ozzie was going to an all Brians setup soon. He was a Vaughn guy for such a long time I'm suprised he doesn't go back now that Itech gear is uncertain. Anyone know why he left Vaughn in the first place?

...or the Brian's Business Manager has had a strong influence in the room as he handled Hasek while he was with TPS

...or Stan Matwijiw, whose hockey school is sponsored by Brian's and is Osgood's goalie coach

Also, the new Brian's gear is just flat out good. There haven't been many interesting developments in materials in the last decade - Brian's now has the connections to make some serious changes.

seeing that both conklin and ozzie wore itech and switched over to brians, does that mean every other itech goalie will be switching to another brand of pad?

Itech's goalie line is dead, with the *possible* exception of masks - although odds are they'll be rebranded Bauer. Not sure what that means for JRZ...

What's curious there is that Bauer has a fantastic mask-maker doing the Vapor Pro for them already, and Itech has been kind of rudderless on the mask front since Dr. Wright left.

Frankly, I'm stunned that Bauer didn't seem to make much of an effort to secure the Itech guys in their goalie gear. Admittedly, they weren't especially high-profile guys and there weren't many of them, but it's not like Bauer is rolling in endorsees between the pipes.

This'll get even more interesting if Warrior gets McKenney to start making samples.

As it stands now Bauer will be branding any of there goalies wearing the itech mask Bauer for next season and they are thinking about using the JRZ factory to make there pro gear which I hope means the one95 and X60 pad.

It is very sad seeing a good pad company going down due to this but Bauer might be taking certain things from the Itech pads and putting them into there pads.

I hope they do stick with JRZ - haven't been much impressed with the build quality since they dumped Phoenix. My Supreme pro-returns are built like palaces; what you'd expect when they're used to sewing tack.

Uh, no - no, Brian's is not a new brand. They've been under new management for a few years now, and it's beginning to pay off.
