which cage looks the best?

I live in Montreal, Quebec. And i've never seen such a thing as our refs checking the stickers on our helmets to make sure they're up to date, that's for sure.

Same here, I have never seen that done, I play and I am a ref, and I have never checked the back of a players head to check the dates on a helmet.

love my medium black 480, I blacked out the ccm logo, because lets be honest, it looks dumb without those big white bold J O F A letters.

its chipping a bit now, but i carefully painted the inside of mine with white paint, it helps alot.

The xl7 with its cage is awful you looked like a total ass coming from another planet...

For the very old jofa, I'm not sure it is possible to put a cage on it, and trust me it's better this way..

I have a CCM vector 08 helmet thats in the mail and I should be recieving it shortley, now I need to buy a cage to go on it. Which cage looks the best withe the CCM vector 08, I was thinking maybe a CCM 480. If anyone has and pictures of there combo or suggestions, they are greatley appreciated.

It the not so distant future there will be a list of "Approved helmet cage combos" these will be ones (In Canada for now only) that will be allowed on the Ice for competative hockey. As we all know some cage and helmet combos are not tested together and therefore not CSA approved.

That being said i am hearing that kids are getting tossed off the ice (in canada again) for there HECC sticker being out of date.

This in no way actually means a thing as most know the HECC sticker is for the USA and the CSA is for Canada only.

if the ref trys to throw you off politly explain he may be misunderstood and if the doesnt work then you better find a conveyner and fast.

There is nothing in any rule book at this point in Canada saying what combos are suited or that your HECC sticker must be up to date.

As I said thought the approved combo list is coming so better get ready for a change in your combo soon if your Midegt aged and playing competetive.

Heard the same, HECC may be US cert but some refs and trainers are holding kids off the ice for their own safety if helmets expired. My son moved to the G this year and it was mentioned at parents meeting to please check helmets for fit, loose screws and expired stickers. If a helmet is no longer safe in the US that's good enough or me.

Is the approved combo list a HC initiative-sounds like a good idea if implemented correctly. Maybe list sent to retailers, posted online....don't want enforcement on the refs though. Make team trainers responsible and they can inspect everyones combo well ahead so no kid misses a game.

HC has a lot going on, debating revamping residencey restrictions and now helmet-cages.
