Whats kovalev using, i saw him using a warrior but it was a different color then the gold and black one he had the last few years, is it just an updated colour scheme or is it a new model?

AK27 with a different paintjob just for him, I think.

I was at the lhs near my house yesterday and bought myself a one95 shaft. I asked the guy how his shafts/blades were selling. He told me within the past year more and more people are going with the two-piece and leaving the ops behind. I wanted to know if this was also the case for other lhs owners out there?

Didn't get into detail about tapered and standard sales though.

Our shaft sales are really low, pretty much just mens league guys. We do sell a lot of tapered blades though, mostly to people with cut ops.

If they were pushed harder they would sell more, but it makes more sense to them money wise to sell more ops.

From a retail standpoint, no it doesn't. It's much easier/cheaper to stock 50 shafts and a couple hundred blades than a couple hundred OPS in various flexes and curves. The reality is that there has been very few advances in shafts over the last couple years and you will generally get better performance with an OPS than a shaft, tapered or otherwise.

I have no doubt that you would get better performance with a OPS. But can the average Joe tell the difference between a OPS and standard shaft/blade performance wise? I see a lot of beer league guys with price-point OPS but I much prefer a quality shaft and blade. Whether wood or composite.

You address two different issues. The guys that buy pricepoint are buying the OPS because it's cheaper than a quality shaft and blade. It's also easier for them.
