NBH 4-rolls

Recommended Posts

I am looking at picking up a pair of NBH 4-rolls and I was able to try the 15" on and not the 14". The 15" seems to fit my hand and fingers pretty well, but I don't like the cuff length. Does the 14" fit the hand the exact same but have the smaller cuff? Or is the whole glove a bit smaller?

I had a 14" XXX and it was too snug for my hand and ended up trading with a member who had a pair of 15".

Any help would be much appreciated....

Personally I use 15s and the fingers are a bit snug, but the overall glove is worth it. Cuff length? Meh, I hate having a cuff but it's not that hard to have it taken off/down.

Well, ultimately I'm more concerned with the finger length than the cuff. But if the 14" 4-roll is anything like the 14" XXX, I won't fit into them.

Probably not the best comparison, but I have pro stock versions of both 4-rolls and XXX in 14". Finger length was negligible between the two, but there is a little more length in the palm of the 4-roll and the obvious volume difference.

There were some custom 15"-1 on ebay, 15" gloves with a shorter cuff. I don't recall the listing or team or anything, just remember that I didn't like the color and didn't want to spend over $100 at the time. I use 14" gloves and deal with the short fingers, I don't like how the cuff sizes up on most gloves. I've tried on 15" 4-rolls in the store and loved them, they didn't have 14"s to try on though.

I have 14" XX gloves and I'd love a set of 15" XXX, the XX are just too short in the fingers, but I'd be wary of how long and flared the cuff on a 15" set would be, I like a slim cuff that has elastic or flex of some kind instead of a wide open flare.

I'd get the 15 set and send them to fixitbymail for a cuff reduction if I was serious enough about it. Maybe even see if they can take 1/4" off the side of the backrolls to take a little bulk out of the back of the hand- the TPS HGT set I have is a slimmer backhand and feel really nice, they just aren't long enough in the fingers, or have that awesome supple feel of the 4-rolls.

I normally wear a 15" glove (Easton, NBH, etc) but had to go down to a 14" for the 4-rolls because my hands were swimming in the 15". Overall length and volume of the glove was more than the 14".

The 14 is noticeably smaller all around than the 15. The fingers are shorter and the cuff is shorter. If your fingers fit comfortably (not swimming) in the 15, stick with it, the 14s are probably going to be too snug

I ended up getting the 15" NBH 4-Rolls because the 14"s were more snug in the fingers. My hands are fairly big (usually and XL or XXL in batting gloves), so finger length can be an issue with certain models. The extra inch on the 4-Rolls works out nicely.

The 15" has a segmented cuff, of which the top part can be folded over (away from the wrist). It takes a little bit to work the cuff in this way, but I don't even notice the extra length anymore during game play.

Hmmm....I think I may go with the 14". I figure that if they don't fit, the majority of people here seem to use 14" so I could probably sell them. Thanks for the opinions, guys.

Haha....sounds good. Hopefully I won't have to sell them. I tried on a pair of Arnason pro stocks sometime last year and they fit great - I should have just bought those when I had the chance.
