Comparable Sticks to the Dolomite?

Recommended Posts

So I recently broke one of my Dolomites and I'm looking to get a new stick but would like something comparable to it. Does anyone who has used a Dolomite and other sticks have any recommendations on one that is somewhat similar in terms of feel, kick, etc.?

It was a 75 flex, Kovalev curve if that helps.

then why not get a completely different stick?

While I am looking for something new, I don't want to make a major change. I'm not looking for something exactly like the Dolo, just something that is comparable.

CCM V10 or U+ Ovechkin in Mid (75) flex

Bauer One95 or XXXX P91 in 77 flex

Mission Fuel/Ti/Pro in Carter 75 flex

Those would be closest in major specs. I think the XXXX would be pretty different. I don't have experience with CCM or Mission sticks.

TPS R8 would be good in whip flex, but I don't think they have a Drury/Kovalev/Ovechkin/P91 curve anymore.

The similarities are dependent on how specific and discerning you are. What else have you used?

Vapor XXX lite

Easton Stealth

Easton SL

I've been using the Dolomite for about 2 years now, so I haven't tried many of the newer sticks.

I was actually thinking about trying the One95 but is the P91 the Drury clone or is it P91A?

Oh and Frolov is the TPS one.

What do you like about the Dolo and what don't you like? What are you trying to achieve by getting a different stick? Quicker shot, more power, better feel, etc?

The main thing I liked about the Dolo was the feel. There wasn't really any specific thing that I didn't like about it but I would like to try something with a bit more kick for my snappers. So I guess you could say I'm looking for a quicker shooting stick.

Aren't INNO's supposed to be close?

The Dolomite is an Innovative 1100, the only new thing is a tweak to the shaft shape and nipple grip option. You'd be hard pressed to find a good supply of Inno branded sticks since Warrior bought them a few years ago.

If you're looking for something different, buying the same stick from 4 years ago probably isn't the best option though.

The Dolomite has a unique feel to it. Lively but not really "vibrating". That's the best way to put it I guess. I am using a dolomite and a pulse. The difference in puck feel is HUGE. My L-2 is somewhat in between.

LHS has more Innovatives than Warriors in stock

Then your LHS is sitting on a bunch of sticks that are four years old.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few 1100's. I loved rounded edge shape shafts.

I take it that it's a Peranis you're referring to. Chances are they're SMUs for Forzani group (I think that's who Peranis is part of), not original Inno 1100s.

Special Make Up.

They're not standard retail sticks, they were special ordered for Peranis/Hockey World for whatever reason. There have been threads on those, some people supposed they were repaints to liquidate old Inno warehouse stock, unsellable sticks from Warrior, or down spec'd Warrior sticks badged with Inno to sell better than Warrior, or rebadged to sell Warrior stock without a warranty on runs that didn't pass QC. I don't think anyone got a definitive answer, but they're certainly SMUs of some kind.
