HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I ran a search but didn't quite find what I was looking for. I see that Harrow bought Christian, and the Christian wood blades seem to be really well liked. Maybe I missed the right thread, but what's the general consensus on their composite blades? I have an itch to spend money and I've been wanting to try some new curves. I like the #4 toe curve they have and they're not a bad price either, but I'm wondering if anyone has used these? I'm using a Dolo2 Robitaille right now.
Andoy 5 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I used one a few years back and I thought they were pretty good. Pretty good for the price and the blade lasted me for about a year.
NorrisContender 4 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I tried #3 last season. It broke the first time I used it. Probably just a fluke as it had a cut on the top like someone might have stepped on it.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I have a buddy that loves his. He's a bit of a gear-head(not whore) and he plays very high-level, he's actually one of the few guys in the area that aren't allowed to play on multiple nights. He's been using his for about 2 years and rotates 3 blades in 2 shafts... I think at this point he still has 2 blades left.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 They're good blades, I don't recall a single customer of our having a problem with their Christian/Harrow blades. The comp #4 curves slightly closer to the toe than on the wood #4 curves that I've seen.
HattrickSwayze 3 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Ok thanks for the help. It's nice to hear that they're durable. My Dolo2 has been really solid compared to my RBK blade that I bought. My RBK one started grenading within a few weeks of buying it. There's not very many blades with toe curves outside of Europe. They're good blades, I don't recall a single customer of our having a problem with their Christian/Harrow blades. The comp #4 curves slightly closer to the toe than on the wood #4 curves that I've seen.I'd be going with composite since that's all they have on their website right now. The #4 curve looks like a genuine toe curve. I'd like to try a tapered wood one, but I don't want to have to go custom if they're not offering them retail anymore. I have a spare tapered wood if you're looking for right handed.

Rustpot 1 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Good thing I didn't mutilate it. I got 3 in a trade, one went into a stress test experiment for a project at school, one got the stove put to it and looks like an Yzerman/Lidstrom bastard child, and the third is untouched, never put in a shaft. Jarick 5 Report post Posted November 3, 2008 I bought two (both Forsberg clones), both tapered. The first one snapped at the hosel-blade joint the first time I used it.The second one lasted probably six months of abuse, lots of games, lots of practices, lots of shooting range time. It also snapped at the hosel-blade joint. The blade had no chips or cracks and still looked practically new.Right now I'm using a Dolo blade and it seems to be stiffer and thinner and more durable, but the Christian/Harrow blade was fantastic. It felt a bit light or hollow to me though. I'd buy another on clearance but would rather have a Dolo blade than a Harrow at full price.

TBLfan 25 Report post Posted November 4, 2008 That's good because most non-harrow sticks don't break.
