Help me decide on holders for Custom One95's!

Recommended Posts

I'm strongly considering ordering a pair of Custom Bauer One95's and want to know people's thoughts about the stock holders versus the Pitch 3 holder.

I've been in Kors for awhile and am pretty used to the Pitch holders. If I kept the stock Tuuk's on the One05's, I'd probably go with Step steel and a forward profile.

What do you guys think? Help me make up my mind!

well as good as pitch holders/blades are. They are on there way out (i think). It seems like it's already kind of difficult to find pitch steel. So you might want to go with TUUKs and get a profile like you Pitch setup.

t'blades, problem solved.

Not a fan of t blades...

I guess my thought was to buy the holders and 2 extra set of steel. I also have 3 sets of steel from my Kor's. I'd probably get new skates every 2 years, so the holders and steel would probably outlast the skate unless the holder itself was damaged...

It's a good point though and is definitely something I am considering...

yeah man if you're going to stock up, you could just go with what your comfortable with. Likely you wont need to worry about the steel much anyway.

If you're going to go w/ PITCH, get them done with TuukC+ so that the holes are the same.

You still haven't put in your order?

I just submitted an order and they took traces and measurements no problem.

Haven't put in an order yet.... I'm almost there with getting all of my questions answered and figuring out exactly what I want.

I'd love to have you do them, but when I count airfare, the skate would cost me over $1,000. :(

I would just go with the Lightspeeds and if you have to have the step steel..Have them make you a skate with the LSP2s with no steel and your LHS can install the step steel runners for you upon receiving the finished boot/holder. I've never worn the Pitch so can someone explain the merits of the Pitch vs the LSP2 holder? How many people actually change their pitch? I guess I really havent had too many problems with LSP2s or E-Pros...Not a huge fan of the Cobras though

I will second this recommendation. I got Tuuk Custom+ (I like the durability and it's what I am used to,) and might change to Pitch at some point in the future.

I ordered a pair of custom One95's with the intention of putting in some step velocity steel. They don't have a power length runner available just yet. I phoned them and they said December for the longer runners. You can put regular LS2 length step steel in though. I prefer the longer ones myself. I went with the lightspeed holder. Coming from the One90's it will be an easy transition. I haven't tried the Pitch holder, but I'm pretty partial to lightspeeds based on my experience with them. I always do a forward profile on them though. That's a must. I can't wait to try them. If only my swollen ankle would heal faster!
