RBK 4K Helmet

Any opinions on this helmet? im coming from a vector 08 medium, over halfway open, hows the fit on this one? I haven't seen it anywhere in person yet. Anything else I should know about it?

I had it... but I did not use it so long... It's a really good helmet.

I had the v10 and the rbk 4k, and I think the rbk 4k fts better and feels better.

If the Vector fits you well I don't think Reebok helmets will. Much more round fit in the RBK buckets.

To the original poster- best advice is to not buy in to hype and buzz about products. If you're looking at the 4k simply because your favorite pro wears one it's the wrong reason. Helmets protect only if they fit well, buying based on someone's "yeah, it fit me fine, so did the Vector 8, and the Bauer 5000" doesn't mean jack, all of those helmets fit completely differently and the person is either not giving you the whole picture or has a freakish narrow, wide round head.

Helmets and skates are the two things that, in my opinion, you really absolutely need to try on before you buy, unless you know for a fact it will fit. Such as wanting to know if the 6k and the 4k fit similar and everyone on here says they're only minutely different in fit.

thanks for the advice, I hate buying stuff online, but theres nowhere to buy around here. I really like the feel of that vn thats in the v08, but noticed it was a little narrow, and the shell just cracked. I was looking for more info on the length of the helmet, but i may just order one from icewarehouse. theyre pretty cheap and ive had good experiences with them

Yeah, at least you aren't looking at a $100+ helmet with the possibility of buying before you try it on.

When I tried the 6k on, the fit was similar, but the padding is a lot less giving. For some reason the comfort pads were ripping my hair out too, which I didn't like. The VN will make the helmets fit more people just because it isn't completely rigid.

considering your going to be up around chicago soon you could check out total hockey. they have a pretty good selection of about everything. not sure if they have 4k's or not but im going there tomorrow probably so if you want me to see if they have them

go with a 4500. best bucket imo. most complete fit of any helmet i've had. and i have one strange dome.

I have this helmet for playing and officiating. It is a great helmet..hands down. It has a low profile fit, feel, and look. Along with that it is affordable. I would argue that the higher end helmets are overkill.
