Differences btw NBH pro 4-roll, SDP and Supreme 5000 gloves

Recommended Posts

Dear all:

First of all, after reading this forum for over a year, I am deeply impressed by all your knowledge about hockey equipment and actually made a few purchases based on your recommendations. So thank you for all your expertise!

I was reading the forum the other day and came upon the New Gear Sighting thread:

http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...000&st=1515

JR was showing the cosmetic differences between the NBH pro 4-roll, SDP and Supreme 5000 gloves.

I want to know beside the cosmetic differences, are there anything different between the 3 pairs of gloves? (ie. Dri-fit liner, better foam, more protection etc)

I have used the Search option, as well as google but couldn't find the answer to my question so I am hoping some of you experts out there can answer my question.

Thanks in advance!

Depends on the model. They started with single piece fingers and now they're split(They split them while still branded Bauer). I believe the Dri-fit liner was new to the NBH 4-roll.

The current NBH 4 roll glove added the interior pillow pads into the fingers. Those were not on the earlier models. It really gives the glove a softer feel on the back of your hand down into the fingers. It also snugs up the fit.

I have a pair of NikeBauer NBHPros, and also have a pair of NikeBauer SDPPros. The first difference seems to be in material, as the SDPs have a thicker nylon weave with the NBHs having a thinner weave that has a bit more sheen to it.

The SDPs have feel like they have higher density foam all around, while the NBH's foam isn't quite as rigid.

On the gloves I have, the SDPs has a 2-piece cuff (one wrap around piece, and then the small tab with the elastic band), while the NBHs have a 4-piece cuff (small tab, wrist flap, side wrap, and backhand cover).

If you have the retail NBHs, the palms will be different than the SDPs as well.

Other than that, as mentioned before, the NBHs have the finger pads while the SDPs do not.

i have a pair of pro return 5000s. the 5000s are heavier than the 4-roll. mine have drua soft palms. the back rolls are different and the fit is differen. the 5000 is wide and the 4-roll is more snug.

I have stock 5000s and pro-stock 4-rolls, so that may account for some variance; but I'd hold the opposite: the 14" 5000s are more snug than the 13" 4-rolls.

Hey Guys,

Thank you very much for the reply. I might grab a new pair of 4 roll or an old pair of Supreme 5000. Your info is much appreciated.

Thanks!

You might need to go down a size on the 4 rolls. I went from a 15 to a 14 and at first I though I made the wrong decision. They have loosened up quite a bit now and are extremely comfortable.
