neoprene hockey stick grip

Recommended Posts

i'm looking for some of these grips. they are just a simple neoprene sleeve about 3-4 mm thick, about 4-5" long. they slide over the end of the shaft to give you a nice grip. they actually used to sell these about 10 years ago and maybe they're not popular anymore, but i've grown accustomed to them. does anybody know where you can get these? i've seen some of the ones you can buy at the store, taci-mac, but they are not the same thickness. i've tried to wrap my butt end with the stretchy tape, but it's not the same feel. i had a couple that have the name gripeee on them and some plain black ones. appreciate any help.

Try also looking for "Jack the Gripper" . Gretz used them. I believe they have since gone out of business, but there may be some floating around. Marc Savard bought all of my LHS's stock a few years ago when he was with the Rangers organization.

those aren't the same thickness or feel. the thick neoprene gives it a nice feel. they also don't have a butt end on it, they are just a sleeve the same thickness throughout.

The Tacki-Mac has several different grip styles... and there is no reason that you cannot cutoff the butt end. Works great on the small radius sticks for me.

True..the TackiMac is not thick at all. From a PP perspective, I like it to be thinner with grip. You may want to look at the DR command grip...thicker than the TackiMac.

The DR and the Tackimac are thicker than the stick and that goes for the Jack the Gripper as well. The tennis grip is a bit thinner. Why no just use Powerflex?

I'm pretty sure that the DR Command Grip and the Tacki Mac Command Grip are the same thing. DR is simply the distributor for Canada.

i've used it, and in fact my backup stick has it. the thick neoprene has a certain feel i've grown accustomed to. i put a layer of that powerflex tape over the neoprene though.

Can't say enough good things about Tacki Mac. I swear by them. Forget the Neoprene, buy yourself a tacki mac and you'll never go back. They also save the heck out of your glove palm. I was cooking through palms every 6 months as I hold the butt right in the middle of my palm. Not anymore with the tacki mac ends, and you still have the grip.
