CapsFan 5 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 seaner7633This is a great friend of mine and the capitan of one of my teams. He did an awesome job and the recognition is well deserved. An avid adult player in Greensboro, NC, Sean used his love of hockey to help raise money for Operation Smile, an organization that provides surgery and after-care to impoverished children born with facial deformities. Sean's idea was to have people pledge a dollor amount per point he scored in a local adult tournament. After getting the blessing of Operation Smile, Sean worked to promote the cause and the tournament, which was held in April. Not only did Sean help his team win the tournament by scoring two goals and adding four assists, through his efforts he netted $3,300 for Operation Smile. As teammate Vance Breckenridge said, "On one hand, it's amazing Sean raised that much money, and that he basically put together the whole program himself. But on the other hand, It's not that surprising if you know him."

seaner7633 2 Report post Posted December 10, 2008 Thanks, but it's everyone who supported the fund raiser, with donations or spreading the word, that deserve the credit. I am very fortunate to have so many great family members, friends and teammates.

djosbun 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2008 This once again proves that hockey players are great human beings. My hats off to you for doing something great. Most people are too selfish and self-centered. You're a good egg.Dave
