WTF is Happening?

On 1-2-2009 i went to the Flyers vs. Ducks Game in Anahiem...Being a Flyers fan I was very impressed at the number of flyers fans that were there (probably due to PennState playing in the Rose Bowl the day before). A Couple things that pissed me off were the fact that everytime the Ducks scored the ducks fans went into this Lame Euro Soccer chant. I couldnt believe how stupid it was, second was the girls skating with shovels to get the snow off the ice!!! not Bad to look at But WAY to Commercial for my likings! The Game was a Great game though! it Went into a Shootout Tied at 4 and Mike Richards put the Game Winner in the net! Just some of my thoughts on the game! chime in if you want to!

Coming from the northeast you haven't been exposed to much of the commercial tactics used to popularize hockey in non-traditional hockey markets (like southern California). "Ice Girls" have been popping up in many NHL cities (not just warm climates either, Boston has them too). Anything to attract fans, I guess.

I don't have a problem with the "euro style chanting". I'd rather see that in an unconventional market...than see a brand new building like NJ's half empty. At least it means the fans are having fun and are into the game.

They have Ice Girls in Chicago too, and the chanting stuff is pretty regular in the SM-Liiga (Finland), every Finnish league game I went to had a lot of chanting, it was actually pretty fun.

Look at it this way. Someone is gonna come out during the break to clean up the ice. I'd rather have some cute girls in tight outfits than old guys in warm up suites, but that's just me. ;)
