Does anybody know what is the difference between the 2008 and the 2009 model?

According to JR and the Reebok catalogue, in the Reebok 2009 Catalogue thread:

Skates - Most skates are unchanged other than cosmetics. The 9k skate will come in a white version.

09 is lighter, something like 80 grams per boot i believe

+1. Ever since my left pump blew out on my 2008 9k's the left heel is a tab bit too sloppy.

oddly enough, i find the heel in the white 09 9k to be tighter than in the 09 black 9k

you cant really tell the heel is tighter by looking, much easier to tell by trying them on.

Wow, isn't that weird?!?! They should actually be the same, just the colors to be different :o

Apart from the weight, there's no further improvement? Or aren't there any further suggestions

from the players? ;-)

I went through the catalogue again but neither the less weight nor the thicker tongue are mentioned anywhere.

Am I missing something?

The catalog doesn't mention anything about it...but if you look at the picture of the skates, the black 9K has a neoprene style tongue and the white has a thicker white felt tongue.

I just picked up a pari of 9k White Pumps at The Hockey Shop (seconds) for $399.00 CDN.

Only flaw is the composite outside of the heel is slightly not perfectly smooth, for $200 off, I'll take it! :D :D :D

I just picked up a pair of white 9K blems too from The Hockey Shop. For $229 off mine has such a small mark in the same area your talking about. You never see it. I think it;s a great way to try an elite level skate without breaking tha bank and feeling guilty! LOL How do you like yours? I'm still struggling with mine breaking them in and finding my way with them so to speak, although it's only been about two weeks. This is my first really stiff skate as I've been using 5Ks for the last few years.
