Las Vegas surprises me as the top vote getter for question 8. Apparently NHLers don't feel the same about "traditional" hockey markets the same way many MSHers do.

Nah, I think it's just if you were a player...would you rather have road trips to Vegas or play another couple games in Toronto?

haha number 4... Surprised not to see avery as the number 2. but i guess he talks s**t more than complaining. And for the Vegas team... would the arena have booths in the concourse to place bets on the match? haha

Interesting and good read.

I agree with all but the Las Vegas one. Just doesn't make sense to me. We already have a lot of non-traditional markets not doing too well. But I guess a PHX to Las Vegas move wouldnt be too far. As long as they can support a franchise.

A couple of thoughts:

1) It's ESPN...

2) "We contacted all 30 teams and heard from 193 players, or roughly 21 percent of active players."

I'm not sure I get your point? They didn't make up answers, and the numbers they got responses from would be more than accurate for polling purposes.

When you see political polls, they generally look for at least 1500 responses, and extrapolate that to the mood of the nation in terms of percentages. 21% of active players responding is plenty good I think

Political polls are the worst, I agree.

Still not very accurate IMO. I was just trying to point out that it is only 21% of active players opinions from... who knows how many different teams.

Ok so which answers do you think are wrong? I think they did a pretty good job with what I guess the majority of us would think. I know if you asked me to name the #1 Captain I'd tell you Iginla (esp after watching his show on NHL Network).

ESPN's online NHL coverage is actually very good.

UNLV and the ECHL Wranglers are not allowed to be listed on the sports books.
