LS2 vs. E-Pro

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have experiences in comparing the LS2 (used in vapor XXXX for example) vs. the E-Pro (used in Rbk 9k for example) ?

i think the Epro has more forward tilt to them then LS2's, but dont quote me on that, all i know is the tilt is very noticable for first time users.

Is there an option for ordering the Rbk 9k with the LS? Or is this skate quite outlined to go with the E-Pro ?

Is the performance of the LS and E-Pro quite similar? I realised a real difference in performance between the Tuuk Custom+ and the LS. Is there the same difference on the E-Pro too?

No, CCM/Reebok uses the E-Pro exclusively. If you want to switch out to LS2's, you'll have to make the switch after you purchase your 9Ks. I'm actually using BOTH holders at the moment: E-Pros on my Pro Tacks and LS2s on my Vector 10.0SEs. Both have been profiled to relatively the same-shaped steel. I've noticed that the LS2 is slightly more rigid than the E-Pro, but the E-Pro certainly felt stiffer than the Custom +.

I like the Custom + and E-Pro holders more so than the LS2, but that is just a personal preference. I feel like I'm on rails when I'm using the LS2.

The stiffness doesn't have as much to do with the material of the holder as it does with the holder's design. Holders like the LS2 and the E-Pro are torsionally stiff because they've got the appropriate shape in the appropriate places to be more rigid. Kinda like a well-built woman.

The LS2Power is, of course an exception, since's it's made from Lexan.

You could theoretically order them custom (JR mentioned that CCM/RBK is working on a new custom order form) without any holes in the soles, and plop on your own holder of choice.

edit: raygunpk-It is more a weight issue. Heavier skaters will notice differences between the LS and E-Pro. Being only 150, both feel pretty similar, but I do notice a difference between those two and the TUUK C/C+.

I used the Prolite3/E-Pro holders for a long time, and I wish I would have switched to LS holders sooner. I definitely prefer the Tuuks.

Same here, I skated in CCMs the RBKs my whole life with Prolite 3 and E-Pros. Then about 2-3 years ago I bought a pair of One90s and swtiched to the LS2 holders and I fell in love. If I went back to a CCM or RBK skate I would certainly switch to the LS2 holders, I feel more comfortable in them and overall I think I skate better in them.
