Edmonton/Jagr Rumours

Recommended Posts

This may be the first time that the weather was better in Edmonton than wherever the player was currently playing. He would have to clear re-entry waivers and a bunch of teams have enough cap room to take on just about any contract Edmonton could offer.

When do his NHL rights leave NYR? Those articles make it sound like it's a next year thing.

There was no mention of that in the article that I read.

Maybe Puck Daddy's headline threw me off...

with 18 points in 39 games in a crappier league - i don't see how he would help a team very much - if he can't even dominate over there how is he good enough to hop right back into the nhl?

next year, we'll need a pick-me-up after we lose the " 'Ol Boys Club" ie: MacTavish/Huddy/Lowe etc...

maybe not all at once though, buit we can hope

prolly the masses will buy it as he's a known "NAME"

I don't know where you saw those numbers, Jagr has 51 points in 48 games this season on a flailing/controversy stricken Avangard team.

He's definitely got the skill and ability to hop right back into the NHL. He was frustrating to watch on the Rangers b/c there were so many nights when he just didn't try, but when he did he was still pretty amazing. Think of it this way, he may not be the player he used to be when he could dominate a game by himself, but with a good supporting cast he will take a lot of the other teams attention away from those other guys and allow them more room to generate scoring... in other words, he's still enough of an offensive threat to warrant primary defensive coverage from opposing teams. I know I'd love to have him back on the Rangers but I know that'll never happen.

yeah i was reading his numbers from the top of the list on that website instead of the bottom like i should have been. if he has 51 points and thats without getting secondary assists over there then that is pretty impressive.

there are probably alot of teams that would be interested in him - but the problem with him is that it always seems like it is about the money. he routinely always goes with the highest bidder. maybe he will sign with detroit for the league minimum and then try to get a cup? lol

I believe rights are retained as long as the team holds a valid and unfulfilled contract with the player.

The latest I heard tonight during the Sharks broadcast is that the Dallas Stars will send him to their AHL affiliate, so he'll have to clear waivers. The New York Rangers will pick him up, and the Stars and Rangers will each pick up half of his salary.

Shit, my bad. I don't know why, but I was thinking Sean Avery for some reason.
