NB Vapor X-60 and New One lines skates

Recommended Posts

Just got off the phone -

Not sure if it is going to be in MN, but the X:60 will debut Wednesday in the NHL. I was told that back in October, and I guess I had just forgotten about that little detail.

I got you an appointment for April 25th with Dr Phil. :P

Hmmmm. Let's see 19,000 pure hard core hockey fans streaming through one venue twice a day for 5 days, I believe you call that a captive audience Not sure if you have ever seen the Expo I am sure there are others like it but no where do well over 100,000 people watch High school hockey in a 5 day period. Over the show hours there would be 40,000 people attending games but I personally know many many people that go to the Expo then back home to watch HS hockey on tv because they could not get tickets. Lines for various booths can extend hundreds of feet and it can take more than 30 minutes just to get into the big booths.

I have also confirmed that the skates will be on display at the expo, in fact I was told that skates will be sold there but at a premium.

I do not think Nike Bauer would turn down a chance to gain market share.

I am sure a lot of buzz will be generated at the show not sure how many people will be shelling out for skates there though.

If you are a hockey fan and want to watch THE greatest hockey spectacle I suggest you journey to Minnesota hockey mecca in March, The minnesota State high School Hockey Tourney. The hockey is unbelievable and the atmosphere is even better.

I'm well-aware of the event.

I was told by Bauer that skates will not be sold. Then again, it's happened before.

I'm no longer a buyer, so I really don't care, but if I were still in hockey retail I'd be pretty peeved if I were a dealer and other dealers got the opportunity to sell skates there.

There are only three games scheduled for Wednesday night in the NHL, so I'm thinking it's either Eric Staal, Patrick Kane or Martin St. Louis who will be debuting those skates.

There's no new ONE series skates are there?

I don't even think there getting the new logo

They are not, and that's the point.

You switch logos to Bauer on the ONE series then you have dealers and customers dealing with a potential closeout situation.

This is why they made sure to keep the Swoosh for 18 mos after the sale - so that the older product can die out on its own.

Interesting to see how/if Bauer will be keeping the existing fit or going with something new all together.

NO.

Carryover items will have NBH logo. New have Bauer. The exceptions are the 4500 helmet and the 4-roll glove.

Uh, no. The 4500 helmet and 4 roll glove will be Bauer branded. Check the catalog.

It's safe to say that nobody should pre-order these $500 (or whatever) skates online if questions like these are still abound.

I think that is he was implying. That those two items would be rebranded while the rest of the old lines would remain Nike Bauer.

The new X60s are on display in the tunnel by the Wild locker room at the Xcel Center..Only players and arena employees can really get down into that area unless you've got an ice time there..
