Stick Help Please

Recommended Posts

Like I said don't get into the who fused OPS not fused OPS thing it doesn't make a lot of difference. The one95 is a pretty nice stick and so far its durable I've had friends tear through XXXXs. The most durable OPS I've seen as of late is the SE16.

Why are you asking us if the Montreal is the best stick for you??

Why are you asking us if the Montreal is the best stick for you??

Im not!!! Out of those 3 I tried I liked the montreal the best!!! ITS NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND!!! IF YOU OR ANYONE ELSE IS USING ANY OF THE STICKS IM INTERESTED IN "S17, SE16, 10k, One95 and Montreal nitro lite" AND HAVE ANY OPINIONS ON HOW IT PERFORMS BAD OR GOOD LET ME KNOW. I KNOW ITS PP, I KNOW ITS PP, I KNOW ITS PP, I KNOW ITS PP!!!!!! THX

The s17's blades tend to fall apart but ive heard good things about the se16, never used one for long but i really liked it, good feel and nice and blade light, good shots, never tried a 10k but i own a one95 and there pretty good sticks, higher kick then the se16 but a bit heavier, there built like tanks though and they look pretty cool, good feel and probably the best overall shots, montreals are relatively obscure but i tried one of the older ones and i thought it was a real sick stick, probably best bets are the one95 or the se16 but again its all personal preference, check out the curves and what not and see which one suits you best.

Which stick is heavier One95 or Se16???

those are 2 completely different sticks. what shot you use most frequently should be the decider, not weight.

Trust me if you can wait for the 10k do it it doesn't matter that it's a 2 piece fused stick I've been using one for my past 4 skates, its got a beautiful kick to it.

for the last time lol...yes it is technically a fused stick but the put another layer of graphite or whatever they use over it to make it really durable and RBK found a new way to weave their graphite so their sticks are really lightweight and durable...from what i see in the nhl most of the 10k breaks at the blade

My One95 shaft/blade combo is awfully light.

Awfully light compaired to a wood stick maybe but not the S17. S17 is 410g

Im not so concerned with the fused issue as I am with the blade issue!! I put a post up about the 10k and someone whos team is using them said the blade is no good, like all ccm and rbk blades. I never used a rbk or ccm so i dont know but I talked to a friend of mine who has been through many V10 and u+ sticks because of the blades.

It seems like all the light top of the line sticks have blade cracking issues.

the one95 is a standard shaft with a mid kick point whereas the se is a tapered with a low kick point. obviously its still down to personal pref, but the theory is that a standard shaft with a mid kick point should be better suited to slappers, whereas a tapered with a low kick point should give you a better wrister.

I understand this theory but many people say their getting better kick with the 0ne95 than the vapor xxxx. Not sure about the Se16. Anyways what does that have to do with the weight?

What I am saying is that the weave makes it pretty damn durable buddy.

I have shaft/blade combos lighter than that. The S17 is garbage. Have you played the game for very long or just never used a shaft/blade combo?

My TPS redlight XN10 shaft is only 250 grams.. Add a 155 gram standard shaft, you have a 405 gram shaft/blade combo. I find most shaft/blade combos to be lighter, plus $85 for the shaft, $45 for the blade and you have a pretty good deal compared to the OPS. The tacticle grip technology took off 10 grams if that is a big deal to you.

You seem pretty set on an S17. I suggest you go buy one and then get a One95 and compare. This is about the only way you really can judge performance based on personal observation.

I use vapor xxxx shaft and blade combo now and before that I used vapor xxxx ops and it was lighter and better feel. I also have a mac daddy, vapor xxx and easton st which are all lighter than vapor combo. Im out with blade and shaft combo but im happy you like it!!! Not sure on s17 or any other stick yet still tring to decide. I might wait till the 10k is out before I make my finial decision.

The 10K is a whole different feel. Also, the Vapor XXXX is a whole different feel than the One95. What did you use for a blade in your Vapor XXXX shaft? You also have weight differences between stickum and non-stick etc etc.. The 10k feels more "robust" in my hands than most others. The One95 has similar loading characteristics to my XN10 Chrome, but a higher kick point..So it feels like anyhow.

I agree with you saying it feels robust it feels like I'm launching Cannon Balas with ever shot.

Toomey I have only used it 4 time time (2 hour sessions) but the blade feels the same as the day I got it, I don't think mine is stock though I got it from Andy Moog, but if the principles of the stick are the same then it is a very good stick.

Im using vapor xxxx blade p88 non stickum shaft. What do mean by robust??? Thicker shaft???

Not concave like my Stealth CNT OPS or One95 shaft. If feels sturdy and strong in my hands, yet light. I can see why people like the new Reebok shafts. I have heard nothing about the Reebok blades though. So I cannot tell you. I can tell you that IMO the Vapor XXXX blades and shafts are different than the Supreme line and personally I like the feel of the One95 better.

Why does everyone have to bash on the S-17. I have had mine for about 4 months and it seems to be working fine. My teammate just broke his and he has had the original one that always broke on the elliptical part, and he's had it for a year. To me, the S-17 is the way to go, then one95. I used the one95 before, and it's pretty damn durable.

Maybe for you but i just havn't seen anyone who has gotten one that lasted, either you got a good batch and they fixed something or its pure luck, but i havnt been able to make the s17 work and ive seen few others either, its a great stick love it but the durability is just lame.

Its really up to you though, one95 is more of a shooters stick, the se16 is far lighter and if you like to dangle its probably the better stick because its so blade light.

You think the one95 is more of a shooters stick than Se16 and S17??? Most people are giving the one95 thumbs because its durability which is great but playability is more important to me.
