Flexlites in Chicago?

Recommended Posts

I asked this in the thread about the new flexlites, but I figured I'd get more views this way. Does anyone know of any shops in the Chicago area that sell flexlite skates?

The last time I went to Jerry's or Total hockey they didn't have older models of flexlites so I assume they won't have the newer ones. I e-mailed Total hockey and they told me they wouldn't be carrying them. I could be wrong about Jerry's, but I was wondering if anyone has seen them anywhere before I start calling a bunch of shops.

Jerrys nope. Gunzos nope. Total Hockey nope. Ive tried all 3 the past two days and nothing, its quite a shame. Its going to be hard to find them in Illinois. Im bummed out about this too, I was really looking forward to the new Flexlites, but it looks like Ill be driving out of state this summer to find a pair...that is if I dont give in on the X60s.

I didnt even think to check Fred's out, but its worth a shot. Big Lou's in Gleview is the same story, its doubtful that he'll have them, but you never know.

Im pretty disappointed actually, I really am interested in a pair, but theres no way Im about to order a skate online without trying it on.

EDIT: I'll be stoping by Fred's Monday afternoon, so I will find out for sure then.

Yeah I'll for sure let everyone know, I plan on going to Fred's Monday, so hopefully he has them in stock or will be getting them in stock.

The Flexlite just doesn't sell. Isn't doesn't fit a ton of feet, and before now they were pretty fugly, plus they have no NHL support for the most part. Shops don't stock size 13 skates just like they don't stock skates for brick feet, they might sell A pair and have a shelf full of stock they can't move.

Yep, and that sure does suck for those of us who have feet that fit in the Flexlites. Its a pain in the ass having duck feet.

could you clarify what you mean by duck feet? Im in 705's now, and I have weird ass feet, so I have to get them punched out towards the ball of my foot (weird metatarsal on outside of my foot), and Ive always dreamt of finding a skate that doesnt need any work done to it for it to be perfect. I doubt I'll ever find them, my feet are really awful lol

Well as far as my foot goes I have a somewhat narrow heel, but not narrow enough to need customs. The outsides of my feet look like I have a 6th toe and then my toes are wide also. I dont know if "duck feet" really a good way of explaining if, but thats the way my feet are shaped. Normal heel, extremely wide forefoot, and wide toes.

When I was younger I was always wearing skates that were a 1/2 to a full size to big on me just to compensate for the width, so far my One90s have fit me the best. I like the One95s, but they dont lock my heel and they feel sloppy because of that.

That's me! haha seriously, it sucks doesn't it? Oh and size 12 in Graf 705's. Thats the last 2 Ive had, but I hate how they soak up water, its brutal, my feet are slow enough

I called Fred's today and they said they will be getting the new Flexlites in. He said they should be getting them by the end of this week.

I talked to Fred himself today and he said they would be getting their Bauer shipments in towards the end of the month, so its looks like it'll be later than this week. I assume both locations will have them.
