ebladeshockey8 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 so a few weeks ago i was buying new roller blades, and i went to the store and i told them my shoe size, which is a 10.5, so i figured that they would just give me a 9-9.5 as a skate size..so i try them on and kinda walk/roll around a bit on them and they seem to fit fine..anyways, i play a couple times and i feel really weird in them, and i feel like they are just too big and im skating kinda sloppy..so i look at the size and its a size 11!!!! i dont know what to do now, and im pissed cause they feel way too big and i look so sloppy when i skate and i dont feel stable lol..any ideas on maybe how to "shrink" them a bit or get a better fit...? im gonna try wearing thicker socks, maybe tht will help..any ideas? i know im an idiot for not checking the size, and they didnt feel too big so i was like ok these are ok, so i know i made a mistake..so you dont need to post saying "wow your an idiot for not checking" cause i already know lol.. porky45 1 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 you could try stuffing the front of the skate with a sock or putting additional foam in the front or on the ankles to take up some of the extra volume.... i'm sure there are better ideas out there, but that's all i got for now. furlanitalia 1 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Go back to the store and have them change them? When i bought my one90's they put a 10.5 and an 11 in the box and I didn't notice until a couple days later. Store admitted it was there fault and changed them. I'd go back and say they gave you the wrong size. Or has it been awhile?EDIT: just read your post and realized they didn't switch them after trying them on. I'd still go back and see if they'll take an exchange.
reyno2ac 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 I'd try for an exchange. Just clean them up really nicely so they don't look too used.

matix218 11 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Not to be a jerk but how did you not notice that they were size 11s?It says the size on the box clearly and on the skates themselves.I know you just figured that they would give you the appropriate size but how could you not at least see the size either on the box or on the skates prior to using them? Joel12 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 I had a similar problem, except not with size. I bought some CCM V04's and the store had carpet and I couldn't tell that all of the wheels didn't touch the ground at the same time. I tried them for a practice, realized I hated it, I prefer a hi-lo set up. I ended up selling them on eBay. I only lost about 40 bucks this way... which is a fair price to pay for making a stupid impulse buy. At least I recovered some money. That's my recommendation, just make sure to advertise that they are "used once!" and people will pay close to new price for them. Tell your story and be honest, mention the scuffs they have and tell the same story you told this forum. Use proper grammar and spelling and don't say "lol" or "im an idiot" and stuff though too, people will trust you more that way.My 200 dollar new skates sold for 187.50 or something. All my losses were in the free shipping I offered, the extra tax from when I bought them in store, and paypal & ebay fees.Started the bid at .99 cents to get some watchers on it, offered free shipping to increase interest. People are going to factor in your shipping price into their final bid anyway, so it comes out about the same if you offer free shipping.
in da crease 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 I agree, put them on ebay and sell them. I would think there would be a decent market for a pair of lightly used Soldiers. The size is in a decent range too. You will be much happier in a pair that fits, even if you lose $50 on the deal.
fawn111 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Skates that are too big will kill your game.... ruin your ankles and make you play like doody....Take the loss, sell them and get a pair that fits... seriously there is nothing worse than skates that do not fit. Sell them and find a pair that do fit. Mission soldiers are going kinda cheap on Ebay. Take the loss and move on ASAP
Sca11ey 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 well at least they are missions so a half size too big isnt that bad, if they were Canadian sizing then an 11 would be like 2 shoe sizes too big

minwookie 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2009 Try to trade for something of equal quality of size 10.5...Then trade those for size 10s...Then trade those for size 9.5s...Then... you get the point.
