Differences in pants

Recommended Posts

I am currently wearing NBH Vapor xxx-lite pants and am in need of a new pair fairly soon. Ive been able to narrow my choices down to the bauer 0ne95, tackla 9000Z, and the warrior hustler. Ive compared the descriptions on these 3 pairs closely and it seems to me the warriors are priced kind of high for what they offer. Does anyone have any first hand insight on the 3 mentioned pants? I play college club hockey(DIII), so i need a pair that can take some hits. Thanks for any and all opinions.

Out of the three you've mentioned, I'd personally recommend the Tackla 9000's. Tackla makes a great hockey pant. Their very protective, flexable and offer very nice comfort. I wear the Tackla 5000 and have found it is one of the best hockey pants I've ever owned. Very anotomically correct pant. Once I got use to the European fit there was not turning back.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not quite sure what you mean by European fit? Does that mean it is a snugger fit? That is kind of how the vapor xxx-lites fit.

I would hit up the Tacklas I honestly don't like the Hustlers and I haven't tried on the one95's but if the Tacklas fit you right then I would definetly buy them..

Tackla makes a really good pant. My pair of 9000s are on their last legs, which is pretty good considering I got them in '03. It is hard to describe the fit, probably a little looser than what you're used to. At least in the thigh. If you want a tighter fit in the hips you can always tighten the belt. Good pants though, protective too. You get alot of protection without scarificing mobility or weight.

+1 on the Tacklas. I wore 5000's in high school hockey and they held up very well and were very protective. I had no issues with mobility or weight of the pants. I recently got back into playing and had a pair of Bauer Supreme 50's which I found were a little flimsy. I went back to Tacklas (Pro 2400) since I'm playing no-check hockey and love them. Tackla makes great pants and I highly recommend them.

well if traditional means looser then warrior is that, tacklas is loose round the thighs and the rbk 8k has a different setup than the 9k

I currently wear the NBH XXX lite too, but I owned Tackla 5000 before that. I like my current pants but the Tackla's were great. I don't know about the one 95 pant but I think you would be happy with the Tackla's.

Has anyone tried on the one95's yet or handled them in person?

i've handled it...it just a normal pants with the "maxsorb" thing they have in their protective line...its a nice gel when its on the inside not outside in my opinion but try it on if u can, prolly make a big difference

edit: fit looked a little looser than a rbk but i didn't try it on

I just used my Tackla Air 9000's for the first time today, and I can vouch for them as well. Really good protection, but good mobility as well. They'll be even better when they get fully broken in.

All of my pants have the "European" fit.. Snug in the waist and loose in the legs. I have a pair of the Tackla 9000z's and they're superior to any other pant I've worn. There is a reason why Tackla is considered the best pant in the game by many, similar to Jofa protectives.

I bought a pair, I love them. I came from the Vapor 40's. They feel like tanks(for protection) but there very light, they also have a good amount of leg room as well.
