I'm guessing that Easton was skipping the goalies since they have nothing in those categories.

I didn't include the Officials. Not to say they aren't athletes. I can do a separate count for those guys.

I did include goalies. I don't see why you wouldn't.

16 Linesmen

18 Ref's

And a partridge in a pear tree...

Back to my question... what are the % at retail though? In the adult leagues I see Bauer (all forms), CCM (mostly Tacks, hello CCM), RBK, and cats and dogs of Graf, Mission and Easton. When I watch kids games before ours I see tons of Vapors and RBK, everything else is mixed... including Vectors.

I'm surprised by the Warrior number being so relatively small compared to the others. It is my perception that I feel like I see a ton of guys using Warrior.

As for TPS, I could probably tell everyone who the 20 pros are. :D Although, there is one less now that Niclas Wallin has switched to Bauer sticks.

Off topic, but one thing I've noticed over the years when watching the kids is that the kids that wear grafs seem uniformly to all be pretty good skaters. I know also that last year when I was looking for some skates at a lhs - which doesn't carry graf - the owner told me that a lot of the kids want grafs. I've got to think that a lot of these kids switch as they get older, as the percentage of older players wearing grafs seems not as high, but its unclear to me why.

52 athletes total? or 52 athletes on teams that made the playoffs. I'm not trying to stir the pot I'm just not sutre if you and the OP are talking about the same sample, and that may explain the number difference. And you mentioned 16 refs and 18 linesman wearing grafs, (or was it the opposite?) how many total ref/linesmans in total are in the NHL so I can judge the percentage.

I havent found a answer to this yet but im guessing the Easton Pro reps contact each teams EQM and get a tally from them. Im sure the numbers are off a little but theres good reason for that. I'm sure theres plenty of guys who might only use Easton sticks but at the time the tally was taken they were using a Bauer or something else. This could be the same for all other equipment as well. Those numbers are dependent on when and how those numbers were taken but overall it gives you a great idea of the popularity of certain companies gear!

32 linesman and 39 referees...that includes the 50/50 AHL/NHL guys, so it's probably more like 25 lineys and 30 refs. A lot of officials use graf because a) they're all black and B) they can get a pair that fits them rather than waiting for a custom pair or trying to find someone to get them a custom pair.

I said 52 at game 82. I'm not good at math. Don't make me re-count after every round of the playoffs.

As for the Officials, this is a good list. http://www.nhlofficials.com/member_listing.asp

I would hope the officials in our skates, don't just wear them because they are black. Ha.

These numbers are coming from Easton so obviously the Easton number is like 80 too high. This only counting around 680 players who have played at least 20 games this season for their NHL club. You can't really count the guy that gets called up who only plays like 4 or 5 games. In that case, you would see Reebok's number a lot higher because of their deal with the AHL.

I'm going to start counting coaches, and players kids. Ha.

My goal is to have every girl, who cleans the ice during TV time outs, in our skates. Everyone notices them.

Prime example #2- Alexander Ovechkin, Goal Whore

Good luck wrangling the Islanders Ice Girls from Riedell...

Sounds great but I usually get as far as "Welcome Your Big Country I..." and then I don't notice much else. If Graf made some sort of thigh supporter that was visible when wearing a miniskirt then I'd notice. Unfortunately, those girls could be out sliding around in their socks and I wouldn't know it.

Do teams seem to favor one mfg over others? For instance, are there teams with a particulary high percentage of graf wearers, or teams with a high percentage of ccm, etc.? Or does everything seem to be spread out evenly? Also on the subject of grafs, it seems like the refs / linesmen never change the holders, but it seems like a lot of the players change them to tuuks. From what I can tell, the equipment seems pretty well spread out among all the teams, but I've never really focused on it.

That depends a lot on the relationship between the pro rep and the EQM, as was previously discussed in the thread.
