Hockey Giant started charging actual FedEx shipping costs

Recommended Posts

The last time I communicated with a member of their staff he tried to sell me the Supreme 50 shin guards because that's all they had in my size, in stock. I was looking for certain features the one90 had, he claimed that the 50 was the same shin guard but a different color. He then called me a liar when I explained the differences while viewing the catalog. He explicitly argued that the Supreme 50 featured the honeycomb padding on the calf wrap and riser and claimed it also has grip print and memory foam in the liner.

I'd rather deal with HG or HM but IW is my preferred online retailer. Unfortunately, they carry limited stock compared to HM or HG. HockeyX is where I go if I need something fast. I prefer my LHS to any online retailer but it has limited stock compared to the large online retailers(obviously).

try hockeyone. had very good cutomer service from them. when i had a problem with my skates they said send them back and we'll look at them. within a week i had a new pair. they only charged 5.00 for shipping (fed ex ground on the initinal order). the pair they sent back as a replacement i did not pay for shipping.

thanks for the heads up, I was actually thinking ordering from monkey since they have smaller shipping fees than IW (80 compared to 100) and I found a coupon for 10% off YSMSAVE10, but I think I'll go to IW now and spend a little extra but I'll be sure I'll get a good thing, if you say so. Since I'm ordering from Europe my only fear is of factory defects like misalligned holders and stuff like that, because if I send them back I'll have to pay again for shipping and again for duties and taxes, because the postal workers are jerks like that

I would suggest IW sebseb, simply because they will be a thousand times better to deal with in case there is a problem. Hockeymonkey will be horrible, you can guarantee it. It's worth the extra cost. It is such a shame that Euro's have to pay such fees for int'l shipping, but I suffered it quite a bit myself.

As for IW's stock they are pretty good about getting new stock in and way before the timeline they put on their site. At least their stock database is always current. I would suggest shooting them an email if they don't have want you want up on the site. I think they are sometimes a tad lazy updating it as quickly as possible :)

That's ridiculous.
