CCM Lecavalier

Recommended Posts

I've noticed on the newer CCM models that the pattern is turning more towards a Sakic-ish type curve, as opposed to the old Lidstrom/Drury wedge that it once was. As far as lie, I'm pretty sure it's a 5.5, or at least it played as one to me.

I had a Vector 130 that I had to give away because it was such a wedge. I think it was lie 6. I use the Sakic or similar patterns. I found quite a difference.

The angle at which the blade and shaft meet. Higher number=higher lie, more upright. Generally can be found as low as four and as high as seven. 5-6 dominate retail though.

So they changed the curve again according to the catalog. What is it like now, and what can you compare the 2008-2010 (round toe) model to in Bauer/Easton?

This is a great question. CCM has been constantly and subtly changing their curves for the past few years now, I have no clue which curves are which now, even their own charts have numerous patterns for the same blades. Confusing.

to clear things up with the current lecavalier.......

It isnt the same as a sakic, not very close. It is more of an open mid-heel curve rather than the open mid sakic.

The new lecavalier is drastically different than the old massive wedge thing that was on all the v10.0s and v120s ect.

I tend to think of the new one as a Drury and a Sakic having a baby.
