stevelknievel 51 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 has anyone done this? i have some lacelocks from some old CCMs and id like to put them on. my thought was to use button head screws and have them go in from the inside so it doesnt mess up the tongue and use nuts to hold them on. thehomez 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I don't know how great of an idea that is. I assume you have to drill a hole on the boot itself to place the lace locks on. This might lead to the boot breaking down or tearing around this area and may also void your warrantee...
furlanitalia 1 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I know a guy who has them on his xxxx's. Pretty sure he got a shop to do them where about the 4 eyelet from the top is.
malcb33 100 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I added them to my Kors on the 4th eyelet down, they really work amazing IMO. I just used the stock screw(from the lace lock) and female side of some helmet hardware. I haven't felt the screw at all from the inside as its behind the tongue. stevelknievel 51 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 i didnt plan on drilling any holes just putting it through a lace hole. the female helmet hardware is a great idea

aarondevera 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I've seen pictures of Iginla using D-locks on his old Bauer S9's... As I recall, it looked like he bolted them through the 4th eyelet down.EDIT: booya. Evidence is somewhere on this page:http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.a...mp;src=quick#
NZblackice 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I've been using the lace locks on my CCM's for the past few seasons and to be honest I don't think i could live without them now. If anyone manages to transplant them onto a pair of bauer's please post some pics!
start_today 778 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 I still can't figure out why ccm quit putting these on skates. I only know a few people who said the didn't like them, and I suspect they weren't using them correctly.
furlanitalia 1 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 Couldn't stand them. In all fairness I may not have been using them correctly, but found they caused the worst lacebite pain I've ever experienced.
