Neo5370 132 Report post Posted July 10, 2009 I remember when I was a kid, they used to make a black wooden replacement blade whose description was very similar to the montreal m-9. Instead of 9 wood/fiberglass laminations it was wood/graphite lam.Chadd, do you think there was any relation between Tac and Montreal. Wouldn't be too surprised as they're both Finnish. VakarLajos 5 Report post Posted July 10, 2009 there is a relationship between Tac and Montreal. We received the Tac40 wood stick from Montreal. They also have a Tac replacement blade listed in their catalogue. I'm not positive what the exact relationship is though.
mik3 1 Report post Posted July 10, 2009 I don't know about the current blades but I know for a good three year span or so I considered a Tac blade in an brown ultra lite as my favorite two piece by far.
adam14 182 Report post Posted July 10, 2009 I used one of there wood sticks this season and it was solid. Not much of an ops company, they focus on wood, very solid stick

Brown jr. ultralite with a montreal m5 blade was absolute favorite. I miss them days.
Leafsrule16 5 Report post Posted July 11, 2009 TAC-STICK is located in central Finland near Jyväskylä. It´s about 2,5 hours from Helsinki. The company produces ice hockey, rink-ball and bandy sticks for domestic and foreign markets. There are also available sticks especially developed for disabled players. TAC-STICK was founded in 1986. The company manufactures sticks with over 40 years' experience and using modern technology. TAC sticks "From The Top of The World" are known for Finnish crafts and quality. They are delivered to you on schedule and the time of delivery is short. TAC – hockey sticks are made in a modern finnish factory by using only top quality materials. Stiffness necassary is gained by reinforcing the shaft with fiberglass overlays and stripes of graphite. By using these materials in different ways you can get the right stiffness and other qualities for every players needs. The blade combine graphite, glassfibre and special resins. These materials provide the best impact strength and durability. E-mail:tac-stick@tac.inet.fikauko.sihvonen@tac.inet.fijyrki.sihvonen@tac.inet.fi Taken off there website. steve66 45 Report post Posted July 11, 2009 Tac have been around for years. To my knowledge at least since the 80s, i'm sure a lot of the Soviet, Finnish and swedish guys used to use them along with the torspos, and they may probably/possibly have been around longer. They've always made pretty solid wooden sticks and blades. They are not an upstart like Brooklynite.
