twistoffate19 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 I just had a quick question for anyone who may have had this happen, or may have some insight. I was recently in Toronto for the weekend and picked up a 9KO at Pro Hockey Life for $100. I played pickup this morning and the stick broke on a slapshot right below where the last power port is.My question is (since it is still under warranty), will I get a 9KO back? I'd actually prefer this stick over the newer Reebok sticks (which I've tried and didn't like). Thanks in advance.
porky45 1 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 my guess is ...NO. you will probably get a 10k or 808.
K9 Unit 1 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 8.0.8s not even out yet i doubt you'll get one...however if you get a 10k we can work out a trade or something...i got a 9kO from pro hockey life too...what curve you get?
Fandangles_hold the fan 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 When you send it in you should tell them when they asked where its broken that the problem is that the stick has holes in it! I actually just returned a 9k and the people at reebok said there is no way for the return stick to be a 8.0.8 and since the 9k isnt in production anymore the stick they will be sending is the 10k. I was slightly dissapointed, I kinda wanted the 8.0.8 but the 10k seems real nice.
Leafsrule16 5 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 Why would you be disappointed? There obviously not going to send out a stick you cant buy yet, you should have expected that. 10k is a lot better then a 9k0. The way you should see it is that you got a 10k for $100 really. I do have one more question. Since from what I'm gathering here is the 9KO is not an option, since CCM and RBK are part of the same company, and I'm trying to avoid another Reebok stick that isn't the 9KO, would it be out of line for me to ask when I call if they would replace my 9KO with a CCM Stick like an Octogun or U+? porky45 1 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 as i've understood it.. although they are owned by the same people and have the same Customerservice number, they still operate independantly. I could be wrong.... someone correct me.
jimmy 194 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 K-19? Is that a Pro Stock Stick. If so, no warranty. Only the retail versions have a warranty, not pro stocks
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 It could possibly be an SMU for the store in which case the stick could still carry the warranty. I was able to warranty a SMU One95 with Bauer recently.
jimmy 194 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 Yea, I thought that but usually the SMU's don't have blade curves labels like K-19. Possible I guess.
tsums9 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2009 K19 is a stock pro stock curve if that makes any sense, it will have a full warranty and the last 2 9kO sticks ive sent in ive gotten U+s

CTHockey 2 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Considering that RBK is still offering 9k stick and glove packages to dealers im sure theres a good chance you'll get a 9k0 sent back to you depending what curve and flex. Not only is every retailer in the US trying to get rid of whatever 9ko's they have left but RBK is doing the same as well.
jimmy 194 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Really, what is that promotion called? I haven't been able to get a retail O stick for prob 6 months. People whi love them, really love them and are looking for them. Our 808's will be shipped 15 Oct.

jimmy 194 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Those must be some they repo'd from a dealer who didn't pay his bills. :o I'm pretty happy i sold out of them, if i have anyone who's looking I'll send them your way. The new 808 is going to be a big improvement, especially in durability. The sample we got has been holding up real well since march, used twice a week since then by my hack employee! The shot off that is wicked.
CTHockey 2 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 Jimmy, I guess we have a difference of opinion. I got my free sample, used it for 2 days, and threw it in the pile with the rest of my "junk" sticks. Overall i didnt think there was too much improvement from the 9k0. Blade felt a little better but over all flex and feel was garbage.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted July 24, 2009 It shoots well and is better balanced. It's MUCH better than the 9kO in my opinion... but its been sitting untouched in my stick rack for months.

The 9kO has it's following. It had terrible weakness though in the blade, I think the new one is definitively an improvement.

To answer the other inquiries, no where on this stick does it say "Pro Stock" or "No Warranty". In fact, all the warranty information plus the number I needed was on the backside. I called Reebok today and asked them about possibly getting a CCM Stick instead of a Reebok, and the lady told me to take a number, call back tomorrow, give the person my number and they'll have an answer. She said if they can't, I'll be getting a 10K.
