Hockey Equipment in Dallas?

Recommended Posts

Where are the best places in Dallas with good prices for hockey equipment. I'm in Carrollton but don't mind driving around the metroplex if need be. I'd like to keep Player's Bench off my list, had some bad experiences there a couple years ago.

Perani's. The people there are really nice, and really work with you on budgets and prices.

Edit: Ha, didn't think about leaving the location. It's Perani's Hockey World in Euless.

Jason- the douche you're probably talking about was fired a few months ago. They're safe again. Peranis here sucks. Mostly a dumping ground with little good gear. Hockey Shop in Lewisville is the best all around.

Take plenty of cash because the hockey shop in Lewisville isnt cheap, in fact they have terrible prices.

For equipment, Ive always gone to Peranis, but I play/played with most employees there.

Hockeyshop in Lewisville has seem to go down hill lately. Their Inventory is less than stellar, and their personnel turnover has hurt them lately. Dont want you to go out there, and then be crushed.

I'll scope it out and see what I think, then compare some prices with Perani's and it might be worth making the trip out there. If Players Bench has improved then I will give them my business. All else fails I'll just hit up hockeymonkey.com or hockeygiant.com Getting back into the game and need a bunch of new equipment so thats why I'm concerned about pricing.

Try on at the store, buy online.

Most shops will not beat online prices.

that is why prices of shops have gone up. besides if you have a problem you get 0 customer support. you try to find it local and buy local first. what you suggest is going to get you jumped on this board very quicky.

Whats wrong with players bench? Prices are the lowest and always have the newest stuff. The new PB store will have plenty, moved to Coppell, next to Valley Ranch. McArthur and Beltline are the cross streets, will open sometime this week.

Swung by The Hockey Shop during lunch just to kind of browse and see what they had. Overally they had a good selection for everything except gloves. Also when did Mission sell to Nike Bauer? Anyway most of the stuff in their stoe was at least 15% higher than purchasing online, which is to be expected.

Player's bench I've just had horrible experiences with sharpenings, purchasing skates, etc. But if you guys have had good experiences with them I'll swing by the Richardson store on my way home.

Personally I could care less. All local shops are good for are emergency purchases.

I like mom and pop places as much as the next, but some prices stores want for equipment are just to ridiculous.

I've noticed myself the only time online is actually worth it is if there's one of those deals they email you about. Otherwise, with shipping and 2 week wait times, you might as well buy it at the shop.

Now while we are in the subject of Dallas, where is the best place to get your skates sharpened in the area. I just moved back from College Station so I'm kind of out of the loop. Ice Training Center isn't too far from my house, they worth a damn?
