Who was it that dyed/painted their vapors black and what was the process? Any pics?

What kind of gloves are these on the top in the pic and can you still get them?

that was me who painted their vapors like that first. basically you need spray paint, painters tape, a sponge sander. use the sponge sander to rough up the outside of your skates, but also make sure to avoid the stitching. use the painters tape to mask off the area you don't want black. Spray the skate black. If you want the job to last longer, put a layer of clear spray paint over it. It's been a while, but i forgot the name of the paint I used, someting along the lines of rustloleum. I posted instruction on this forum before. If you use the search function, you'll find it eventually.

Big Ben? Do you want to see what I did to my Vapor XXXX's awhile back with a black sharpie?? They've held up just fine color-wise

I think spray paint would inhibit the breatheability of the skate

You have any more closeups?

Dude. It's black paint. Tape off the areas you don't want painted, sand the right areas, and paint away. Done.

It's not that hard.

I actually think he was talking to epstud74, as he did ii with sharpie, and ben would like to see a closer picture of the quality.

Well, that's even easier. No tape or sanding required. Color with sharpie. Done.

Those Nike Bauer/Bauer 4 rolls are available just about anywhere including eBay or online retailers like hockeymonkey.com etc. I believe Player's Bench in Texas has those. Just about any reputable hockey shop should have these in stock.
