If anyone here has an ipad, apparently the NHL has an optimized site for it. I would think this site would also work for iPhone but I can't find the URL. Anyone know it?

Have you tried m.nhl.com. That is the stripped down version for mobile devices.

I picked up my 32GB ipad saturday morning and love it, i had sold my macbook air once i saw the keynote announcing it, bought an iMac and now use the iPad for everything mobile along with my iPhone 3G.

so far i am extremely impressed, very fast, very easy to use and they keyboard is actually amazing. Im actually posting this with the ipad right now.

The only things at this point im hoping to change are the additions of a caps lock & tab buttons and a universal mail box which has already been confirmed in iPhone OS 4.0.

Maybe I'm in the minority presently, but I hate Apple. It's seems to be just gimmicky, overhyped stuff at high prices... they haven't done anything really new in a while. I dono, maybe I'm off the bus on this one.

m.NHL.com doesn't show the videos. Apparently the ipad site does. I figure if it works on ipad it should work on iPhone, I just don't know what the URL is.

There's no special site to go to on NHL when using the iPad. Optimizing their site for use with the ipad just means there video formats, etc are compatible with the iPad, being that Apple chooses not to support flash. Going to NHL.com everything automatically works, and looks great after just checking it out myself, google did the same thing along with a lot of other sites.

BTW having a netflix subscription and the netflix app is amazing, this is going to help kill so much time on slow days away from home, at the battery life thus far has been amazing, reaching around 12hrs.

yes but does it not have to redirect to a different site? I'm just not sure why (if they've moved away from flash) it would work on ipad but not iPhone.

No redirection at all, i haven't tried it on my iphone yet, but they are on different OS right now so maybe that's the reason? I haven't taken the time to actually look into it at all yet.

Well it definitely doesn't work on my iPhone but hopefully in the future. Almost makes me want an ipad, I never touch my laptop at home.

Try double tapping the shift key. It should turn blue and that means that caps lock is on. If that doesn't work, Settings > General > Keyboard > Enable Caps Lock.

At least that how it works on my iPod Touch.

I understand why you might feel this way, because that's why I switched from Macs to PC's around 1995. I always said they were easier to use, but harder to own, meaning all the peripherals were far more expensive on the Apple side.

However, I switched back to an iMac in 2006 and have two observations.

1) They put the "personal" in personal computing. In other words, when most of us are at work we need to use word processing and spreadsheets. But when we are at home, we want to be able to easily access our music, movies or photos. Apple excels at the interface for that.

2) They cost more up front, but they appear to be sturdier machines/software. With the PC's I owned, I always found they began to drag down around three years into it, whereas the iMac is nowhere near as sluggish after three-and-a-half years into it. I could see going four to five years with the iMac, something that would have had me kicking a PC across the room if I had to keep it that long.

so i bought the iPad from BestBuy and they offer the extended warranty. for 2 years it's $109 CAD, or 3 years for $199.99 CAD. When it comes to electronics I almost always buy extended warranties because I have had difficulties in the past and the the extended warranty came through for me.

Now with the iPad, should I get the extended warranty with BestBuy or with Apple (for the record I do not know the coverage/values of the Apple extended warranty)? And how many years would you suggest?

Any help in this would be great!

BTW anyone have a good program that is free where i can convert video files into one that is compatible with the iPad. I tried some but for some reason still wont transfer onto the ipad thanks.

so i got the 32GB Wifi iPad a few weeks back, but much rather go for the 3G iPad. So i was wondering which you would recommend, the 16GB 3G or 32 3G iPad? need to make a decision soon.
