Recommended Posts

does any hockey equipment shop still send out a catalog? i've been out of the hockey loop for about 18 years, got a real job, got married, had 4 girls, now i'm back playing again....companies like great skate, way back when, use to send out a catalog.

Catalogs are now called the internet. Waste of paper and mailing expense for shipping. Sorry to bust your horns since I am old enough to remember Great Skate and Ocean Hockey Supply when their catalogs were king.

Great Skate and Ocean were always good. Rupp's out of Pittsburgh seemed to have a good selection and decent prices back in the mid-90's...

Their shop was a dump but I remember picking up some decent stuff there before they went out of business.

Prices and availability for online shops change daily, thus the internet is your up to date catalog!

Yeah, but the actual magazine-type catalogs always made for great "bathroom reading material" :D

I was cleaning up my basement the other day and came across a couple oldies from ocean, great skate and rupps.......was like going back in a time machine to see the "new technology" of easton's aluminum shafts :P

haha! I know... I had some old USA Hockey magazines laying around with partial ads in there from the 90's... it's crazy to look back at top of the line then and now.

South Windsor was always good as well, no pictures though!

Always looked forward to getting that one in the mail, picking out the coolest equipment, and then waiting until my youth hockey team would play South Windsor and I could check the stuff out in person. I also remember getting a catalog from a company called Boston Hockey Supply (I think it was supply, it might have been shop or something along those lines). I've never seen a store with that name. Anyone know if it was a front for a store (like hockey 1 to South Windsor) or did they just go under.

If that is the case, what store are they now. I don't recall any accounts in Mass. that are part of The Hockey Group and I recall that all product was shipped out of Massachusetts. Anymore insight would be appreciated.
