Cut on One95 boot =(

Recommended Posts

Just noticed tonight after my game, there is a cut about inch long not too deep. You can see the weaving of the composite material.

Is it just cosmetic? Can I put something (like epoxy) to seal the cut?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about that. Same happened to my custom 95s on the very first drop in. That was a long time ago. Still structurally intact.

sorry to hear this :(

there's been reports of One95 getting cut pretty badly before & if you search you'll find some

I even thought initially that Alive is a brittle material, but reports are few & far in between so I guess it's just your luck,

usually people just filled the cut with epoxy & that's all

Exact same thing happened to mine. I used some crazy glue to seal the cut edges of the carbon weave. doesnt look very good but it seems to have done the trick. i haven't noticed any additional damage since it was cut. happened to me during the 2nd time i used them! =[

My friends toe cap just fell off. It's currently loosely held on with clear tape. Weird being the skates are not even a year old.

I have to call pics or it didn't happen.

Same type of cut happened to mine. I was devastated, but soon got over it. Worst part it is that it happened again after another two sessions on the other skate. It got me wondering whether I should try to sell them to get the pro-stock pair I wanted since prices came down (mainly for the extra ankle padding and better tongue).

(Quick aside - I bought from a place that said/listed they were pro-stock, but it was there mistake. They offered a return/no exchange, or a partial refund, and sending them back would have cost me, so I took the partial. Meant I got them at an even better price than the great price I thought I was getting. Unfortunately, prices dropped a few weeks later, BUT, these were a gift from the wife for Christmas, so everyone was happy.)

All I have done is "file" down the parts that kind of curled over. May have to try some pro-tec-toe over it (I have the clear stuff somewhere, I think). It would give me a use for the leftover pro-tec-toe, now that almost all skates come with the plastic/hard cap.
