JR Boucicaut 3801 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 I haven't received a copy of it.It was a article talking about MSH. The second article, which is about sticks will appear in next month's article, along with a 1/4 pg MSH ad.I am currently working on getting a pair of SyNergy and KOR skates and doing a direct comparison. JR Boucicaut 3801 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 This is the first article. I don't know if it was edited.By JR Boucicautwww.modsquadhockey.comMy name is JR Boucicaut and I am one of the administrators on ModSquadHockey.com. My “real†job is at a hockey proshop in Orlando, FL. My work in the field, as well as on message boards and relations with hockey manufacturers - in fact, I’ve been called a “hockey product geek†by the VP of a hockey company - has given me the reputation as someone “in-the-know.†MSH is really looking forward to contributing to Face-Off and helping out its subscribers.MSH was established in March 2004; however, its roots go deeper than that. It is the brainchild of 8 men who were moderators on another message board for a number of years. We decided to start up their own website and have enjoyed success ever since. We all come from different walks of life and parts of the world, but hockey is what ties us all together. We have close to 900 members as well as representatives from every major hockey manufacturer on board. Anyway, enough of that – let’s talk gear! There has been a growing trend in the industry to “get lighter.†Light skates, light sticks, light pads, heck, even light underwear! Manufacturers are trying to get skates in the sub-840g range; however, it is difficult to find the happy medium between weight and durability. Sticks are going the same route as well. 2004 marked several entries into the “ultra-premium†($179 and up) stick market. Finally, let’s have a moment of silence for two manufacturers who ceased operations this summer. Hespeler and Brian’s provided great product in both the player and goalie world over the years, but in this age of mergers in the hockey industry, the smaller companies are having trouble staying afloat. MSH actually had an excellent relationship with Hespeler and its staff and is confident that they will rebound from this situation.

Cunndies 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2004 JR - that was the article, as it was printed. It also said something like "Enough for now, I'll be talking sticks next month" at the end.
