Bauer Heel curves

Recommended Posts

Going through the Pattern Database I found that A Staal P91A is as close to an Easton Drury. On Bauer ID though, it says it has a 6 lie. Then on the same Bauer ID, the Stamkos P91 has the same exact specs as the P91A. But the P91A description is that it has a lower lie, when they are both listed as 6 on Bauer ID. Staal is 5.5 on Pattern DB. Drury is 5.5

Hockey Monkey has Staal as a 6 lie.

Just needing some help with this mix up.

I use an SE16 Drury and I love it. It's on it's final legs and about to go though. I've made it last 6 months. What's the closest to a Drury for Bauer.

The pattern Database also has The Gagne curve as a 5 lie, where as Bauer ID has it as a 6 as does hockey monkey.

On Bauer ID, the Kessel is availble in a 7 lie. I don't mind the change in lie, but I'm wondering about the curve depth. It's listed as a Heel curve. Any one have any expeiences with his curve? Kessel is p12.

I use a Drury, and wanting a higher lie, I ordered the P91 instead of the P91A. When it (MyBauer One95) arrived, I lined the blade up next to my SE16 Drury, and both were identical in terms of lie and curve, which was odd. When in the store, I compared a P91A to a Drury, and they were identical as well, so I'm not entirely sure what the difference between P91 and P91A are. I hoped that the P91 would of been a 6 lie, but it seems they're all 5.5 like the rest of the Drury clones out there.

P91A is flatter and I think is the actual YP pattern. At least one of them. The P91 has a little more curve on it.

So your saying that the P91 and P91A both look like a 5.5 lie than the advertised 6 lie?

So if I got a Kessel with is a 7 lie, is that going to be a 6?

Tip: Bauer's notoriously wrong about their lies. The P71 Peca/Clark was never a 7 like they thought it was.

Well I may not make the switch to Bauer. nothing is set in stone.

I've been using an SE16 because I like the feel and I'm big on passing and making plays. I'm wondering if the one95 will have better puck feel. If it does, then I think i'm sold because the Bauer ID customization options are very appealing.

To me, the One95 has a better everything than the SE16. Also, the chart on this site is composed off users' experience and not charts that a company posts.

Bauer and CCM lies are both way off the listed specs. Most of the CCM's now have a good rocker, and a lot of the Bauer's always have. I dono, the difference in 5 to 5.5 and 5.5 to 6 is pretty small, so I wouldn't be all that worried about it.

Coming close to a decision on a custom One95.

Having previously used a Drury, is a Stamkos a suitable substitute??

Looking at the Pattern DB, the P91 (Stamkos) is listed as Mid Heel, not as open as the P91 A (Staal) which is listed as very open. The Stamkos is listed as 6 lie where as the Drury is a 5.5, the increase in lie I don't mind. Staal is 5.5. Just want the curve closest to A Drury for bauer, (which ever lie I don't mind).

What do you suggest?

So teh Stamkos curve is going to feel like 5.5, any idea about the Kessel?

The Kessel P12 has the same lie as an Easton Iginla and is very close in terms of curve and blade shape.

p91a, its the bauer clone. . . .

I've got a P91 One95 and it's near identical to my Warrior Kovalev blade, which is near identical to my SE16 Drury. One might be a tad bit more heel or more open, but more or less they're all the same.

Multiple people have stated the the p91a is the drury clone. If that is what you want as stated above, buy the P91A.

Cool man, hopefully everything comes out alright.

What grip did you go with?

I'm thinking corner tactile with stick'um but I'm wondering if tactile will wear down my glove more, and if I should just get full tactile.

I usually candy cane my stick, even with grip alright on. I figure tactile might negate the need for that.
