My LHS has one left Synergy skate in stock and on display in the store in this special display case with a sign "taking pre-orders now," I would have tried it on but they've got it like bolted down.

Try it on? You should just order it on the spot based on looks alone. I hate it when shops do things that obviously aren't in the customers best interest.

Did you make them to fit the same shape foot as you did with the S500s? If so, I guess I miss out, huh?

If what I have heard about the XXXs is true (same fit, different lining, etc...), I can't wait to get me a pair.

Okay, a little off topic, but I thought I would ask anyways...

After Justin mentioned the forthcoming S600s, I took at look at the S500s on the Mission site.

I noticed that the 3rd or 4th eyelets from the top seem to be "seperated". i.e. they are attached to another piece of material that is stitched to the boot. They remind me of the CCM Tacks from the last 10 or so years (CCM, interestingly, has moved away from this style).

My question is this:

Why are the eyelets on a seperate piece versus in the main boot itself? I've always been leary of CCMs because I like my skates super-tight. Doesn't the having the eyelet on a seperate piece contribute to a "looser" skate?

Justin, I would appreciate your input/comments on this. I'm not trying to poke holes in your product (in fact, after your Graf/Mission exchange, I'm going to give Mission skates some serious consideration) but I am curious about why companies do this.

First who says they're S600s?

Looking at my S500s, the third and fourth eyelets, on the outside of the boot only, have a plastic reinforcement on top of the leather.

As you noted the CCM was mounted on a floating piece of plastic, ths Mission piece is sewn to the skate.

Sorry, I thought they were S600s...okay, whatever they are called! :P

So the S500s have two eyelets on the outside of the boot only that are on a floating piece? You don't mind that? Just asking cause I always felt that my CCMs (from way back when) were tougher to get really tight because of it.

Mission does not have a floating piece. The black bit is sewn directly to the skate. The eyelets go through the plastic and the leather of the skate and there is no separation at all.

That said, I loved my old CCMs that did have the floating lace lock.

Im not trying to sound like a sh#t head or anything but the synergy skates are crap...no joke....we cancelled our order of over 100 because of how fast they were falling apart...if u think about and this is what we were told by other Sport Excellence stores was that glue and graphite dont mix....the glue doesnt last very long.Dont beleive me? thats fine....im just trying to save people money by telling them not to bother with the synergy skate

haha ya and you skated in em i bet. trust me pal theyre not crap. and id trust the easton CS theyll help ya if anything is wrong, i know that the reason theyre not in yet is there was a problem in the heel and they had to stop the shipment of 3000 skates that were going to be shipped out instead of shipping them out until they could fix the problem, unlike some companies would probably have done especially with a product like this that will sell almost no matter what.

I'm forced to call your bluff.

This was on the 9th:

I had em on my 705s and they were much better than cobras but to be honest id go with custom+ on any skate i get...thats what i have on my synergys now

http://www.modsquadhockey.com/index.php?sh...t=0entry65105

This was on the 19th:

i havent used em yet i just got em today

very light tho

i prolly wont use them for a bit because its gonna take a little while to have tuuks put on the razor blades isnt doin it for me...

So you got the SyNergys on the 9th AND on the 19th? And you got the holder swapped by the 9th but it was gonna take a while to get it done on the 19th?

I hate it when people lie, I really do.

JR you got too much time on your hands when you can call someone out on their posts with proof....

Ive seen both skates, havent skated, but have taken some time to look at both. From an observation, the XXX appear to be a better skate construtions wise. But I will have to hold off until I have the opportunity to skate in both and choose one for myself. 1 and a half onths till the XXX come out, just in time for Xmas.

youre good jr...but maybe too good lol. ive had 2 pair. i got the first right at the end of summer and then we discovered this problem with the heel that has them off the shelves right now. now i have my second which also has custom plus on it and so theyre working well...hopefully no more glitches tho. i do agree that when you design a skate for weight almost solely that you are probably giving up some things, and im not sure how well easton really thought thru the process of putting the boot together, but as far as performance goes this skate is pretty good. but thats also why i am happy with their CS granted i didnt exactly get them at a store like usually, they took it back, examined the issue and apparently i wasnt alone.
