tuuk custom plus vs tuuk lightspeed

Recommended Posts

Just ordered a pair of pro stock wheels and they have tuuk custom plus's on em and they are a size bigger then what they normally are…how would you compare them to regular sized tuuk lightspeeds?

yes, as TBLfan said, they ara alot softer and flex more during skating than Lightspeed does..

The Custom+ holder is also 3mm lower than the Lightspeed holder.

it´s totally individual.. But it will surely be harder than going the oposite way. The first couple of times you skate with the custom+ you´ll get the spongy feeling that TBLfan was talking about. But you will get used to it..

i went from Easton Razor bladzII on my Easton SBX skates to custom+ with heel lifts. Took a couple of hours before i were totally used to the spongy somewhat softer response from the holder..

Old habbits.

Why do some many Pro's use Custom+ ?

I just put a pair on my S15's because I like to skate more on my heels.

If I recall wasn't there a weight thing about getting that spongy/springy feeling on the tuuk customs +? hmm..

I have the Lighspeeds on my new skates and custom plus on my old skates and when I go to tournaments I bring both sets in case something happens to one set and the difference doesn't throw me off from switching from skate to skate, but I have them profiled the same and that helps alot. I like the height of the lighspeeds for turning sharply, but that's about it.

A softer holder flex more when the player is heavier, so yes!

A player with powerfull skating/strong legs will definitly have benefits with Lightspeed's

Heavier players will get more benefit for sure from Lightspeeds where as lighter players I would think wouldn't. It takes more effort for a lighter player to get full responsiveness of LS's vs. Custom+. For pure straight away speed I think the LSs are better---but agility wise I like the Custom+ as you get more bounce + you are lower to the ground with Custom+.

Overall like all the above stated you can go back n forth saying the benefits of both holders, but from a style point of view the custom + look so classy! I got a pair of on some pro stock z airs and love em. Ls2 are good but If was adding some Tuuk holders to a skate it would be custom + for sure. Thats me. B)
