Reebok Skate Warranty

Recommended Posts

So, I've got a skate problem with my new Reebok's. I'm pretty sure that they do a warranty up to 90 days right? So I wanna call in and see if I register or anything. Problem is their Office hours are 8am-6pm EST. I'm in pacific. Do they have an email address, or do I need to get up early to call them. (Live in BC. Pacific time, 3 hours back. Plus I'm in school till 3. so..yeah.) Anybody know it?

No help on the email address, sorry. But at the risk of sounding flip, couldn't you just call them before you head off to school?

Well I have either hockey or choir most days. But I guess I don't really have much of a choice. By the way do you know how good their warranty is?

You might want to post your possible warranty concern on their Facebook page or possibly join their Reebok Community and there might be an area where you can contact them electronically.

Well, I'll try calling in the morning. If not I'll hand it off to my LHS and let them try to resolve this. Thanks.

I think you'd be better off doing that right from the get-go. Rather than being without skates for a couple weeks, if the store you bought them from determines that there is a warranty issue, they can give you another pair of skates that day and deal with reebok themselves.

They can but they usually won't. Stores don't want to be in the middle of warranty issues and the companies don't want shop owners making determinations for them on what is or isn't a defect worthy of a warranty replacement. The best course of action is to go through the company's warranty department.

If you did deal with your store they would most likely end up shipping the skate to reebok for assessment and from there Reebok would either repair or replace depending on what is wrong with your skates. Things like a toe cap breaking is a no brainer just the more complex ones like tendon guard ripping or quarter panel cut very deep that it affects the overall integrity of the boot

We do it all the time with our major retailers (besides Graf, you nevery know what they'll do). I don't think that we have ever been turned down on an item sent back for warranty replacement/credit. That being said, we do use discretion. If it looks questionable, the customer doesn't have a receipt and doesn't look familiar, or they are just being nit-picky, we let them deal direct.

I agree, Chippa, that most of the time stores don't want to be caught in the middle but now that sticks are completely out of our hands, we don't mind dealing with this type of stuff since it doesn't happen very often.

NextBobbyOrr, if I may ask, what is the issue with your skate?

Your store used to handle stick warranty's? When warrior first started "making" sticks I got my warranty replacement from the lhs I bought it from right off the stick rack and when that broke a week later, somehow I got a complete refund in the form of store credit. I always thought that was weird as I never heard of any other store doing that. The lhs didn't handle the warranty's for much longer after that for obvious reasons

The pump on the right skate loses air anytime I use it. It'll keep if for less than 10 minutes usually. I know that the pump isn't the most important aspect of the skate, but I really like the ability to customize the fit like that. And really if I'm gonna pay $500 for the skates(New 10k's.), I'd really like them to work properly for a long time to come.

Oh and I called this morning, the guy said that was something that is applicable for warranty. I wasn't really sure if they actually take that as an aspect, as there are some players I've seen who don't even use the pump. But they told me to go to my LHS and speak to them..hopefully I could have some skates within 3 weeks.

Your store used to handle stick warranty's?

When one piece composite sticks first came out, the manufacturers had the stores handle warranty replacement. It was a horrorshow to say the least. Depleting your stock of sticks down to nothing while not making any profit is always fun.

I can only imagine the headaches that situation would cause.
