Fedorov91 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2004 lol. For those of u who think it's ugly, I thought the same thing when I 1st saw it but I guess it just sorta grew on me. I like all of the eclipses, eventually I'll own one of each generation. Most people do like the 2nd gen best, cuz of the bodystyle but also because those were the easiest to mod. I have the 3rd gen (an 03) and I love it, some people think they're ugly though so whatever...Things that won't make it to production from the concept will be: the glass roof, sideways opening trunk and hood, 20 inch rims, and the sweetest feature on the concept was the hybrid engine which they call E-Boost. In addition to the 3.8L V-6 they had a hybrid engine that kicked in and added another 200hp making over like 400hp!!! They were also going to make it AWD but I'm pretty sure thats not making it to production either I hope in the upcoming years they make an AWD model but this car will still be sweet regardless. 43%burnt 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2004 i really liked the 1st and 2nd gen eclipse's, but i just can't stand the 3rd gens at all. the body style is just...blah. plus, i'm still bitter they killed the awd/turbo 4 action. that was the best part about the line. the new concept is interesting. engine wise, the best you'll probably see is a 3'ish liter v6 around 230hp in the new gen. here's some spy shots of the '06 with test car shrouds on. it shares a little bit with the concept car. still iffy on looks and performance for that matter. http://www.acurainspired.com/forums/lofive....php/t3774.html Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

43%burnt 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2004 i think sport compact car is a pretty decent magazine compared to the other stuff that's out there. if you ignore the rectangle pieces put in to hide the real shape, the rear of the '06 eclipse seems to take a bit from the concept car. it still has the same big bootie action going. although, the way the glass looks, i don't think its going to be a hatch at all. plus the overall size of the car looks bigger. its more like the size of a honda accord than a civic.
