Bauer x50 skate

Recommended Posts

I need some feedback on these skates from anyone who has them. I googled and could not find much info. I live in an area that does not have LHS very close and those that do, don't have a great selection. I need to know how the fit and compare to the X60. I am looking for these for my bantam age son playing travel hockey Thanks

To me it's the best skate they have in their current vapor line.

It has everything you expect from a solid skate, it's light (even a bit lighter than the X60), traditional vapor fit with a lot support, you get a pro-level stiffness (boot structure, stiff outsole), and most of all you don't have the cheesy inner liner of the X60 (a kid will go through in a 6 months time if he plays 5day a week, on the x50 it's a more classic/basic/durable material) and at last the price is almost reasonable.

it's relatively well built but very similar to the X60, and when you see how a pairs of X60 look after one year, there are high chances the x50 is the same kind of disposable skate than the x60.

You'll be better off with a clearance pair of XXXX/XXV.

I've had my X50's since the new vapor line came out. I can tell you that it is a very durable skate and the stiffness is pretty much still the same as when I bought it.

what skate did you have before? Do they fit & feel about the same as a Vapor XXXX?

I had the RBK 5k prior to that. I wouldnt know if it fits like the previous vapor line, but i'm pretty sure the fit would be a little similar.

If you're in Canada, Sportchek has Vapor XXV's in stock. If you catch one of their sales you can get them for around $250. They might not be the the XXXX's, but are close and the price is right

+1 for the X50's. Very nice high end skates for a reasonable price. Most of the features of the top end X-60 and a better bang for your buck. I highly recommend them.

Used those skates for a season, they were my first mid-high level skate and now that I've moved on to T1's, they were a good skate. Reasonably stiff, took me a while to get used to, got beat up pretty quick, but overall they were a good investment, and a good skate to use.

great value, in terms of fit they are a touch deeper and wider than the x60's, I believe them to have a little more volume overall than the xxxx's as well. The only skate in there lineup that fit was a x50 in a d the rest I needed a touch more width and volume hope that helps
