Pro stock ice hockey pants - lower

Recommended Posts

I just picked up some pro stock pants. They are from the red wings and are the shell along with the lower. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using pants of a similar design. They are Easton, size medium. I have an Easton girdle, but it doesn't seem to fit properly. It looks like theres possibly another section that buttons into this shell. It looks like there are quite a few button holes or slits on the inside. Here are some pictures. Any input would be much appreciated.

The pictures aren't great, but hopefully they will do. Thanks.

That's not going to fit over your girdle. What you need is the upper portion of the pant. A lot of prostock pants are two piece pants. Meaning the top half can be Bauer, Easton, RBK, CCM... with the lower being Warrior, Easton, Bauer, etc...

Just locate an upper portion of a pant, and you should be good.

This is all assuming that you did in fact try to fit the lower portion on top of your entire girdle.

Hmmm... I'll see if I can find an upper somewhere. I actually took the lower thigh padding out of the girdle and put the shell/lower over the remaining padding. It was NOT a good fit at all.

Uppers are really hard to find in my experiance, people tend to hang on to them and change the lowers. Your best bet is to probably buy a set of two piece pants and change out the lower to the Detroit one you've got, theres plenty come up on eBay.

OOps, didnt read your middle post about u removing the padding off the shell. I'm surprised it doesn't fit properly. Mine works just fine.

Hmmm.. Yeah, I don't know. I thought it would work. Maybe because the pro stock pant is a medium and the girdle is small. The girdle seems real tight on my body and the pro stock pant is way too loose over it.

Or how about u remove the padding on the shell and keep your girdle intact? The shell will end up being like a normal cover for your girdle. I re-read your 2:14 am post, and thats how my set-up is.

I have RBK uppers with an Easton lower.

Does anyone know if all lowers will match up with a different brand's uppers or vice-versa? Will the buttons on match up with the slits?

I thought about doing that, but the shell fits super loose over the girdle. I'll prob just have to try a two piece set up, not a girdle. I wear medium pants.. I have Bauer one95's that fit well. I guess it'll have to be trial and error.

No, not all will match up but most will work. When I used Easton lowers on my Bauer uppers they fit horribly, they bunch up in spots and they'd come undone. I basically rigged it up with fishing line and it worked fine.
