Rangers 2010-2011

Recommended Posts

Rise-You're talking about Michael Del Zotto (MDZ), Mafia was talking about Mats Zuccarello-Aasen (MZA).

Dizzy was better in this past game but up until this point he's been awful in his own end. And yes I think MZA has to get a shot at some point this year, especially with all the injuries we already have. I imagine he'll be the first call-up with how well he's been playing (or so I hear he's been playing). I doubt they'll bring Tim Kennedy back this year, being as he'll have to pass through waivers and then becomes half as expensive. I'm sure some other team will take a shot on him at that point.

Either the game against the Leafs or the Bruins, after the win they showed Mats Assesn (MZA)in a suit by the dressing room giving pounds to the team coming in the dressing room. I don't understand why he's not in Hartford? He should be playing not watching games. I can understand if he's not good enough to play in the NHL but he needs to be tuning his game in the AHL getting North American game action. It makes no sense.

Hopefully not on D anymore. Hes horrendous.

He's not referring to Del Zotto. And I agree to an extent. Del Zotto has been making some very poor defensive plays and his +/- reflects but if you watch the games from start to finish, almost every shift he's on the ice, he's getting the offense rolling. Great breakout passes! Sadly, that's not all a defensivemen has to do in Hockey...

Anyway, even without Gaborik, Prospal and Drury the Rangers have looked pretty solid the past 3 games. 1-2 goal wins but still, playing decent. The Bruins and Leafs are no crappy teams this year.

Dubinsky and AA have really been great offensively so far and Callahan has been a perfect forechecking complement to that line. AA's skating is so much better than last year, it's amazing.

Totally agree Chappie. I hope we can expect the same kind of improvement in Del Zotto's defensive game as the season progresses. I've always been a Dubinsky fan, but he's playing so well right now. I might be going out on a limb here, but he is protecting the puck as well as Jagr did when he was here, in my opinion. Instead of taking whatever hit someone's going to dish out, he's hitting them first in order to protect the puck and maintain possession. It's really impressive.

From the teams website:

Retired numbers on the front hem (or is that the inside of the rear hem?).

Interesting, to say the least.

Overall, I like it.

I like the design of the jersey, other than the retired numbers part. Why waste the time and effort on an asthetic that no one can even see? At least, I HOPE we can't see them.

The retired numbers are just an extra. It's on the inside, rear hem. I like them a lot. Very classy design.

I'm really liking the jersey, I mean really liking the jersey... as long as the retired numbers are on the inside.

Chadd, by ghosting, do you mean what Nike did on the Olympic jerseys? That would be a nice touch.

Is this jersey only going to be worn this year?

anyone see that game today vs edmonton?

Was a great game for a Rangers fan.

Boogaard rocked McIntyre too. The brawl that Avery started was awesome

Just saw the highlights. Man, how big a douchebag is Avery? Doesn't wanna fight...doesn't wanna fight and then when Smid turns his head, Avery sucker punches him. How can anyone respect a dipshit like that?

I'm one of the few Rangers fans that wants him off the team. In any other city he'd be kicked off the team — oh wait! that happened already in Dallas. It wont be long before Colin Cambell tosses him a hefty suspension. If not, someone just needs to pull a Tie Domi/Ulf Samuelson on him.

How many times do people have to people have to watch this guy pull crap like this? What's it going to take for it to stop? The league(I'm looking at you Colin Campbell) could do something about it but I'm sure they won't and eventually someone is going to McSorley him because he sure as hell won't answer the bell anytime. People talk about guys like Cooke, but atleast when they realize they've crossed the line they answer the bell(for the most part)

I'm real disappointed in Sean. He was having a mostly problem free season besides his double slash in Toronto and was had a great start to the season, better than any I can remember him having, but then he had to go and pull this crap. Either fight or don't but don't take a cheap shot like that. Erik Christensen was right to call him out. Idk if you guys saw it but he said to the Oilers TV station in a post game interview, "It was a sucker punch...everyone could see." He was right to call him out but it's not what the Rangers need especially in Pittsburgh tonight. Torts said they handled it internally but I'm not sure. You never like to see players calling out other player. What do you guys think about it?

Yeah, when I think of guys who stand up for what they've done, Cooke is one of the first names that come to mind.

Did I say all the time??????? One time he crossed the line and his teammates let him know it he answered the bell. Where did I say that Matt Cooke is the epitome of respect and accountability for his actions? Don't worry I'll wait.... It was an example of a player crossing the line and acknowledging it and dealing with the repercussions of his actions. Learned to read the entire post before you jump to posting your useless sarcasm  Look I can facepalm too, now point will really get across

Think about Rangers players or Oilers players calling him out? Oilers players what else would you expect from them? No one would sit back and watch that and not say or do anything about it.... Rangers players though how would you feel if you're Brandon Prust or one of the either guys that got thrown into the mess and had to fight and "defend" a teammate or however you want to label it, that won't defend himself? Why would they enjoy fighting in an 8-2 came because of actions from a guy that hightailed it to the room? I know I wouldn't

I didnt really like the way Orr started this fight, and DB still had one of his gloves on as things got going. How come there wasnt a big stink made about Orr?

I'm pretty sure Boogard didn't want to fight Orr that night. That was a day after Orr got knocked out against Pittsburgh. Orr kind of forced that fight and Boogard knew Orr was probably concussed the night before and shouldn't be fighting.

Why put his name in there if you don't think Cooke and guys of his ilk stand up for what they've done? Trust me, Matt Cooke has crossed the line a hell of a lot more times than once. Cooke knows linesmen's numbers better than just about any other player in the league.

I think if more teammates called out guys when they pulled that kind of crap then you would see a lot less problems with the "respect" factor in the NHL.
