I'd recommend the jofa/rbk pro stock on ebay or at hg. I believe hg only has them in size large now, but they are the best out there.

Jofa/Reebok is only good if you can fit it. I am too skinny to wear those and Bauers fit me best.

My old Jofa's finally needed to be replaced. On the way through St Louis to the in-laws for T'day we stopped at Total hockey.

I tried on V:60, V:40, V:30, CCM Vector 10 on down, Reebok entire line, Warriors, and Easton S19 and S13.

I bought the V:40 because they fit the best and offered the best compromise between protection and mobility.

I really wanted to like the S:19 but didn't. The CCM were second but felt too bulky.

I was in the same situation deciding on new elbow pads, i tried on the bauer pro series, vapor x60 and easton st16. I really liked the snug fit of the X60 but did not like the bicep part or how it tapered, the bauer pro series fit very well and had lots of protection and mobility. My last paier were easton synergy 777 so i was used to the fit and since the ST16 were on sale i went with them.

The ccm pro's look really sick. I tried them on and it seems like that "elbow lock" really keeps your elbow in there, the were pretty comfortable to. They were 55 bucks.

I just bought a pair of Easton ST16's for $40 and they offer very solid protection and are comfortable. Can't beat them for the price IMO.

how do the st16 elbow pads compare to the old synergy 700 elbow pads?

were the 700's not the 3 piece ones ??? I have those and the velcro is at the end of its life span ...and I would like to get another 3 piece .....unfortunately they seem to be out of style !!

Where did you find these for $55? I'm in the market and also like the look of these, they seem to be $75 at all the usual places.

i had a similar experience. i vote x40's. good, three piece style, bicep guard isn't overly busy like the x60. the ccm's need to be slimmer, even though they fit and moved great.
