Farrell pads on clearance

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing trouble since every pad they make is on clearance at Hockey Monkey. I'm hoping new line since it would be a great product with some tweaks (better abdominal protection first and foremost).

Certainly a possibility, if you look closely on the picture it looks very much like somebody simply scratched or smudged the logos out in photoshop. Other than that there simply seems to be no difference

ive never used their product, but ive been told by multiple players who do/have used them that the ventilation is awful, anyone think the same or the opposite? thanks

Very ironic.. so I suppose this is the last shipment we'll see? As far as ventilation goes - its like wearing a shirt so the problem you may run in to is feeling too cold if anything , lol

I tried the top of the line pads and hated them. thought the ventilation was so bad that I didn't even actually play in them. I have a friend who recently who bought that bottom level pad that I think is actually a lacrosse pad and he said the ventilation was awesome.

I've had a pair for a couple years and think very highly of them. Played high-level men's league (full contact) and never had any issues.

Ventilation-wise, I don't wear a shirt or anything underneath them and haven't had problems with it.

I wear a UA Heatgear shirt (I think..?) under my L650's and I wouldn't go back to wearing more traditional pads. They're the less bulkier ones, I think they're classed as "multi-sport" and the ventilation is mobility is far better than my 2 previous shoulders; NBH Supreme 70 and Jofa 8800.

Has anyone tried wearing these compression shorts over their pants? I'm looking for some added protection to avoid hip and tailbone bruising.

The only other similar-type product I found was this pad short by ShockDoctor. Anyone has any experience with the product?

So my son is getting close to outgrowing his H600 shoulder pads, and Farrell's number is disconnected.

I thought I'd heard some NHL player bought the company, but maybe I mis-understood. My son hated all the other shoulder pads he tried before the Farrell.

I can't find the TPS Response stuff around either, which I thought might be similar, so anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,

Todd

What does he hate about other pads? I had so many issues with shoulder pads before they improved the design with Easton and Reebok segmenting the chest vs core. And I would trust the "traditional" foam and insert padding over the Farrell stuff personally but I don't have much experience with them.
