Tuuk Custuum + Blade Problem

Recommended Posts

For the last season I've been using Bauer Vapor 10's with the triangle blade cut outs, and in the last few months my feet have been sliding out when I turn.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with the triangle blade cut outs in their Custuum +'s or Lightspeeds?

Are your blades worn down considerably? You may be "bottoming out"... hitting the plastic holder on the ice when you turn sharply. If this is the case, get new steel.

The Perf-Steel isn't the cause of the problem. As Joshy said it's most likely the boot touching the ice, due to the steel being lower or the boot being weaker.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll go to my LHS and get the boot ground down and see if that helps or get a higher steel.

New steel would be your best bet!

I'm curious...how does one "grind a boot down". Sounds like a recipe for disaster!

Are your edges level? That might do it to you too, if it's not the steel that's the problem...

Bauer doesn't have a warranty on their steel.

He's bottoming out.

Also, keep in mind that the Perf-Ice has a wear bar...once you get to that point, it won't hold an edge.

One standard height, make sure you replace both at the same time. Any good shop would tell you that as well.
