Holy Crap!

Worst. Collapse. Ev-Ah!

That might have been the single worst period of hockey I have ever watched. Not sure it would have made a difference with the way Russia was pushing it...but anyone else thihnking Cameron should have called his TO at 3-2???

I noticed Ellis didn't put his medal on, but later he was wearing one and had another in his hand...anyone get the story on that?

Turned off the game at the end of the 2nd thinking Canada had it in the bag then turned it on again right before 24/7 started and my jaw dropped when I saw the score...hope they replay it again tonight I gotta see what went wrong.

I read online at The Buffalo News that tickets to the game were listed as high as $1500. I know several people who put out serious coin do go to that game. I'm so glad I watched it at home, so that complete self-destruction could be witnessed in private.

Full marks to Russia for never giving up - that was the third time in the tournament they came from behind, and almost did it against Canada in the round robin.

I hate to write this about young guys who are crushed by the loss, but that was the most embarrassing period of CDN hockey I have ever watched. I just don't understand the unforced turnovers and inability or unwillingness to get the puck deep. The play in the 3rd was a complete flip on the first two.

CDN hockey is supposed to have the rep of battle, heart and passion and the Russians stole it. Full credit to the Russians and I puke as I write that but these kids played balls out for their uni. 3 comebacks in games they were out of, is impressive.

Now were did I put that tape from the Olympics and follow that up with some Summit Series. SERENITY NOW!!!

How did the Russians know that icing was called off but the Swedes didn't? After all, the Swedes stopped playing but the Russians didn't. You should never assume anything and just keep playig until you hear the whistle.

Maybe they watched the other linesman?! The Swedes didn't assume anything as they had all the reason in the world to believe that it was going to be icing considering that the closest linesman to the puck had his arm up for icing. Once they noticed it wasn't gonna be icing, the Russians were facing the net and most likely had more speed than the backwards skating defenders. Doesn't make much a a difference now, does it? You'll need a lot of skill and some luck to win, and this time luck wasn't on our side. Congrats to Russia!

That can't be the case as they only put up his arm after the play is called dead. The far linesman had his arm up to call icing and the closer linesman waved it off. He was standing near the blue line. I don't think the Russians know it was going to be waved off either. They were just quicker on the puck and created an odd man situation in a split second as the other Swedes were slow to come back.

Say what we want about how poorly Canada played after the lead. We still have to give a lot of credit to the Russian players and the coaching staff for instilling the confidence and effort to score 5 unanswered goals. As Dave Cameron said during the timeout, Win the battle win the game. On the 4th goal the Russian forward won that 50/50 and took it to the net. They deserve their success. We were out competed.

Russians Kicked off plane:

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Russia's unruly junior hockey team has been booted off a flight at the Buffalo airport while trying to get home after beating Canada to win gold at the world junior hockey championship.

Airport spokesman C. Douglas Hartmayer says all 32 or so members of the Russian contingent were asked to get off a Delta flight headed to Atlanta after boarding for takeoff early Thursday morning.

Hartmayer says the group then left the terminal but didn't know where they went.

Tournament officials had no immediate comment. A call to a Delta spokeswoman wasn't immediately returned.

Russia overcame a three-goal deficit in the third period to stun Canada 5-3 in the gold-medal game Wednesday night.

Can't blame 'em. I'd be doing some drinking if I had won that tournament, too - especially considering the way they did it and in the atmosphere they did it in.

"We're already here - we might as well play 20 more." - Canadian player (to remain nameless) as he threw his gloves on the dryer after the second period. No, I'm not kidding.

No blurrng the fine line between confident and cocky with that gem

Hopefully it wasn't one of the returnees.

2012 World Juniors in Calgary/Edmonton are now sold out and people are not happy. I have my four seats in Calgary but the demand for this tournament in Canada is off the charts.
