New Stick

Recommended Posts

i just broke my Se16 and im in need of a new stick before monday. as i won my Se16 and would never pay 250 for another stick, i have narrowed down my choices to the one80, and the sickick iii 8k. what are your opinions, if you have had one of these or have just looked at it in the store. i play deense and like to dangle and take big slap shots.

If you liked your se16 then you can just get another one. They can be found online for around $130. There's some pretty good reviews of the new sickick line in their thread. The one80 is a mid kick stick and the 8k is a low kick. The desicion mainly is what kind of kickpoint you prefer.

Well, if he likes to take slappers, then the One80's midkick should be the choice, as it allows you to load up more power than a lowkick like the 8K

Very true, but some people have problems switching from low kick sticks (se16) to a mid kick (one80). Of he likes the low kick feel then stick with a low kick stick. But a one80 could be better for slapshots. Although I stiff like lower kick sticks for slappers.

Check out Combat Sports, 52 Cal. or 45 Cal. both quality sticks and some of the lightest I have ever used.

you're not helping this guy, he's narrowed his choice down.

Anyways, just remember that flex is more important than kickpoint anyhow, make sure you got that down before you decide. An 87 flex One80 will feel more 'flexy' than an 85 flex 8K due to the kickpoint, don't be fooled

I always found the SE16 as a good "jack-of-all-trades" type stick. I can do it all. It has decent feel, has a low kick but slappers still are good with it....

I have found that Warrior Dolomites are a similar stick. I think you would really like the 2011 version of the Dolomite DD stick. Far better feel than that of the '10 DD and a shaft dimension that is similar to the SE16.

yeah i found the Se16 was the same way good for whatever you need it to do, but truthfully, ive never really been a fan of warrior sticks, cant explain it im just not, but give me a bauer, easton or reebok (or the cl and cs as they are the only ccm sticks id ever buy) and i love you forever, not in a gay way but yeah

you should feel lucky in only having to pay 200, they cost $600 in Australia

SE16 is a great all round stick and i find the Dolomoite the same

Hi,

I just broke my "Easton Synergy Elite Grip" one-piece and now I am looking for a new stick. As I was very satisfied with it, I want an Easton again, but there are 2-3 Easton sticks with almost the same price:

What exactly is the difference between the

Easton Synergy ST Grip Sr. Composite Hockey Stick '10 Model

and the

Easton Stealth S17 Grip Sr. Composite Hockey Stick

?

They both almost have the same price. Is one of them significantly better than the other one? If so, why?

Or is it worth the money, choosing the Easton Synergy EQ50? Is it much better than the winner of those two above? Whats the difference? That thing with the weights sounds pretty much like a gimmick for me.

My preferred shot is the wrist shot if thats important.

Thanks for your advice in advance!

S17 is part of the stealth line. I think you would be better off with the ST if you want something similar to your SE and want it to last for a while.

whats the difference between the stealth line, the ST line, the SE line and the EQ line? thats very non-transparent.

okay, thank you very much. now i know about the stealth, the ST and the SE line. but whats about the EQ line?

am i right, that it is just a little updated version of the SE line, plus that little gimmick with the weights?

i am not sure: is it a gimmick or is it really usefull?

thanks!

one more question: how big is the difference between the different sticks of a line?

for instance: is the Easton EQ50 so much better than the EQ40 or EQ30? whats the difference between the sticks (aside from the design and the price)?

and why is there always a grip version and a non-grip version? istn't it important for every stick to be grippy?

is there really NO difference in the material used or in the production??

and isn't it a big disadvantage, having no grip on the stick when taking a shot? is there an advantage i don't see?

If you have gloves with good palms, you don't need grip on your stick. Unfortunately 90% of the gloves on the market now have nash palms and most of them get slick when wet.
